For fun you should do what Lucas did for the 2009 MS Awards suggestion page and edit the first post, inserting each name so we can have a solid list here, because I am quite curious as to actual numbers here...

I suggested that as well...could be fun to see how many there are (and to avoid people writing the already mentioned).

There are quite a few arn't there.
Lets not forget Blind Guardian either (not the name necessarilly), but a number of their albums are most certainly Somewhere Far Beyond, and of course Nightfall

Carach Angren
Carach Angren means "Iron Jaws" in the language of Sindarian, and is the name of a fortified pass into North-Western Mordor in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.

The most Tolkien-inspired band is most likely Summoning, even if the band's name is not Tolkien-esque.
And to all those who think this band is immensely overrated: if you want a totally overrated Tolkien-related band, just check Battlelore, that's a band who really sucks major ass.
And Summoning is much less overrated than Blind Guardian since NIME.

Talking of overrated crap, you can also check Burzum or Gorgoroth.

The name Battle Dagorath is kinda Tolkien-inspired (and "Eternal Throne" is a very good album).

Gorgoroth
Enslaved's Isa album,
Burzum used to be Uruk Hai and whatnot...

"Burzum" is written on the one ring. It's Mordor-speak for "darkness", I think.

Mithradir? A BM band from Germany with an obvious Tolkien inspired bandname. I think their lyrics are also inspired by Tolkien.

Anyone knows the reason why Blind Guardian chose that name and why there is a "blind guardian" in all his album's covers? XD

In Spain there is a band called RIvendel Lords. Another another band is called Dunedain... and one my favourite bands from spain is called Saurom (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70ZV8QQJ9eE)
