There you lie, sitting in a room that seems to be empty? empty because to you nothing else exists, nothing else matters. Nothing else matters but that person who is sitting in front of you. Imagine your pair? idealized, sitting in front of you and staring at your eyes as focused as you over her eyes at the same time. You are both holding hands in this barely lighted room after the feeble piercing rays of light of the morning sun. Holding hands and at the same time, the slitting of wrists by both of you to each other takes place. There is no sadness, no problems between you; it isn't a soap opera fairy tale of a fantastic and impossible dilemma that stands between you two. You are both smiling with a tender look in your eyes of both joy and feeling of fulfillment. Fulfillment of what could this be? Only both of you know. It is the culmination of your story, ended when your love makes your lives to be at their highest, as to preserve this moment, your happiness, for eternity. If such a scene were to take place, the perfect tune for it would be the one found in this next video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEYbViYJBd8 Such melancholy and beauty seem to be like a ray of light of deceiving hope in a silent and unavoidable tragedy.

EPICA Working On Its 'Heaviest' Album To Date - Jan. 17, 2007 Dutch female-fronted symphonic metal band EPICA has issued the following update regarding the recording sessions for its as-yet-untitled new album: "We've just finished the drum recordings and we can only say that [session drummer] Ariën [van Weesenbeek; GOD DETHRONED] is one of the most talented drummers in the world. We are so happy to have him on the new album! At the moment, Ad [Sluijter] is finishing his guitars, Yves [Huts] is recording his bass, Mark [Jansen; guitar] is recording his grunts and next week Simone [Simons] will start with her vocal recordings. So as you can see the recordings are in full process. "We are really happy with the new material; this is definitely going to be our most heavy album by far! We can't wait to be playing these songs live for you guys!" Check out pictures from the recording studio at http://gallery.epica.nl/?page=gallery&show...e%20new%20album. EPICA's new album is being recorded at Gate Studios in Wolfsburg, Germany with producer Sascha Paeth. EPICA has yet to name a full-time drummer following the departure of Jeroen Simons in 2006. not a very "new", but great information for the followers of the band personally i´m waiting for it

If Weesenbeek was behind the drum kit, then that is a huge and I mean a HUGE improvement over their latest drummer. However, it is very likely that this band won't use the full potential of Ariën.

This band played in Detroit, Michigan late last year in support for Kamelot and I was really impressed. Great sound and great performance. Now it seems they also have balls. From what I've heard and seen, they will be coming back to North America late this year HEADLINING!!! I certainly will be there and with a new drummer, it should be interesting. Harpos had a great crowd last year and the reaction for them was all positive. I hope it carries over this year to give them a good crowd for their tour, probably if support for their new cd!

Epica are great!Simone will improve her voice and I'm sure that after some years she'll sing much better. She's also very pretty and seems very nice either. I personally dislike only"The Score",but not because it's a"score".I just cannot really get into it.

I've noticed that live, they sound better than on cd, the cd sound is to soft IMO. But perhaps with this new drummer it might be better . They do put up a great live performance. I saw them on Pestpop 2006 and it was awesome, they had some sort of wind blowing thingy wch created a nice affect. (and a hilarious one when it remained there whilst Jon Oliva's Pain was playing )

Unfortunately,I have never seen them live, but even from the low-quality records from their live shows can be recognized how much better they are live.

I'm happy that they solved the problem of the drummer, It would be sad if they freeze because of a drummer. The previous drummer was also great, I saw him playing live last year... NOTE: EPICA WAS THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL BAND TO PLAY IN MY COUNTRY, I OWE THEM RESPECT AND LOVE.

It isn't much that can compete with Manowar's covers' I agree. We even have a beutiful woman here, whitch is much nicer to look at then five swetty, half-naked men. But i still think it's rather tasteless.

I loved the cover and who the hell cares about the cover if the album is good?? From what I read, this one is going to be a really interesting one, especially because of the lyrics.

I like the cover too, dont think its tasteless The contrast of Simone's hair against all the blue is pretty cool. Btw. There's live vids of some of the new songs already on Youtube.

14.06.2007 - 12:07 Written by Bitch Boy on 14.06.2007 at 01:38 Point taken. I do think this will be a very intresting album, with a new drummer and of course the fact that it's going to be a concept album. Even if the cover bothers me I have to deal with it, after all the music is the most important thing after all.

Gah, I can only say: "typical" She looks better one this one than on the first album though oO (always thought that was a stupid cover) Really looking forward to the new stuff!! Concept albums = love, especially if written by Mark Jansen, wooh! And a heavier sound, huh? Hoping for male vocals on ALL songs now! =) Hope they'll be playing a new song next week (Graspop)..

Mark said that there would be lots of grunts on the new record. But I won't be that impressed. We all know that Jansen did a much better job at AF's albums.

Hmm, I don't think that Mark was "better" in either Epica or After Forever, though I *do* prefer his vocals in After Forever. For some reason, his grunts on the Consign To Oblivion release took away more from the songs than they added depth to them. However, live is a different story, as they are very balanced
