I used to play Magic. its a pretty fun game. I was good at it too. some of the decks I had were undefeated. I played with a Sliver deck, that deck was soooo cool. I still have my cards somewhere. I should find them

sLIver was/is a creature type in the game. although they could have made new colors, I haven't played the game in years. It was a pretty fucked up deck if I remember. I'm sure it isn't now though.

No no no, there's no new color.

It's not sILver, it was about sLIvers. It's a kind of cretures that appeared in the Tempest block (1997) and that reappeared from time to time (last time was in 2007)

I can say I know the basics of this game. I've played it two times last year. XD I have the cards too (black & green decks), but I'm not a fan of MtG.. at least not now.

And yeah, I have my own card too (not made by me), but I won't show it to you.

You just put random cards of the same colour in a deck? You don't use any strategy in building them?

Yeah I played years ago, was not too bad a player, played a few tournaments and the like. I just started to lose interest, last set I played was Urza's Saga. I still have some cards lying around, had a pretty sweet discard deck too.

I play a lot of Magic, also pretty big tournaments (like Grand Prix or Pro Tours). I think it's quite funny and if you are good you can win money with it ^^

Oh of course, I see, well I mostly use a blue/white Combo-Control deck. When it works out well I usually end the game with more life than I started off with...god bless lifelink.

I'm generally playing aggro decks too, in the weenie green/red line of thinking.
But I like to try combo deck in various colors, even if they don't work... Because I don't seek to have 4 of each good card, so the combos don't work too smoothly...

As I mentioned in my previous post I haven't played for years but am thinking about playing again. However, im so out of touch its not funny! Can anyone recommend any quality counter-control decks or just a solid deck setup? I'll love you long time if you do.

You should really start playing again...a bunch of my friends recently started playing Magic again and I still enjoy playing it today as much I did years ago...except that they have a lot of new cards from a lot of new sets that I know nothing about...

Yeah, the newest set (conflux) they put out all these stupidly powerful enchantments and creatures that pretty much end the game as soon as they're into play. On the upside these things take like 4-5 different mana types to summon so you wont see them too often in a game. Still, I'm not into a lot of the mechanics of this new set despite incredible artwork.

@Dr. Rock: Yeah that Conflux set looks stupid hard to beat man...a 10/10 protection from everything? hahaha...a */* with power and toughness equal to every land you have? holy hell...an enchantment where you put a 4/4 creature token on it for every enchantment you play...damn...I'm buying myself some of this set man!

Sigil Of The Empty Throne. Its a 4/4 FLYING token creature every enchantment you play, I have it in my blue-white combo deck. Other than a small handful of cards I'm really hating this whole Shards-Conflux block. They've made it almost impossible to not play with a prismatic deck, so theres little variation from one persons deck to the others. The Eventide-Shadowmoor block was the best IMO, wicked combo decks in that one.

I've been recently been buying my MTG cards from eBay...does anyone else do this? You can buy them pretty cheap...also, one of my "friends" ripped me off and stole a bunch of my MTG cards so now I'm buying them all back from eBay...

I had quite serious offer to buy about 450 older Magic cards for 200 CZK (about 8 euro), but i had to wait some time for money and then the guy didnt replied...

Magic, eh? It's been so long since I used to play. I was never massively into it but I had a few decks and used to play with a few of my friends but nothing more than that really.

The guy finally replied, so now it seems i would have my Magic cards soon
