I checked their site out, and found it interesting, though I doubt it will run on my 1.3 Ghz Athlon, but thanks anyway, maybe when I'll buy a new computer I'll try to get it, of course I don't see it happening too soon, so probably when I'll get a new computer the game will be somewhat dated, but hey, I have always loved classics over contemporary stuff, so no problems in that department

Well i think that the best RPG that i ever played is Chrono Trigger, everything is aweson in that game. My second favorite RPG is FFV... or Mario RPG? well both are extremly funny.

What i hope to play soon, is FFXIII and recently i knew that theres a remastered version of FFV and Chrono Trigger for the PS1, so i want to play them.

I'm currently in a kind of online rpg game called Knight Fight. The link is in my sig. Actually clicking it, registering and doing well will probably help me out so feel free to do so lol.

Another favourite game series on computer for me is fallout. The world is very origininal and there are cool perks and conversations and quests and stories are good both in 1 and 2 part, it also has good dark humour and unique atmosphere and quite good possibilities to play a real character. I'm afraid Bethesda won't make 3 part very good, as far as I know, they're more commerce and mass and combat oriented, atleast I got such impression from Oblivion

Kudos for Planescape Torment !! I love that game so much... I specifically agree on the mystic atmosphere going on and the big amount of possibilities...Nordom is awesome.

Hmm, I've heard about Nordom but I never encountered him in my first game... Did you complete it yourself? It was quite difficult in some parts and I wouldn't have completed it if I hadnt refered to a walkthrough because I wouldn't have looked in a certain closet without the walkthrough(I was stuck) The ending was awesome, though. Its simply an amazing game


I checked the age of decadence website and it indeed seemed interesting, I hope to get it when it coems out. The setting seemed pretty original and as I saw there wasn't put too many effort into graphics, which can even be considered good, because often while the gamemakers concentrate on improving graphics and combat, forgetting to add the key elements of roleplaying like good atmosphere character versatility etc. Seems like an interesting game.

You get access to the Modron cube by buying the Modron figure in that shop, (somewhere in the same place where the Brothel of intellectual lust is).

I would have completed it myself, if it wasn't because of a silly event that didn't trigger (In Baator) where you have to talk to the skullpillar to know the location of the portal.
Many things are quite impossible to guess yourself, like the different possibilities, which depends on either your Charisma, intelligence or Wisdom level... and that for example at a Widsom of 24 you can threaten to un-make yourself at the end of the game and scare the Transcendant One
And this is only one of the diverse possibilities in that last (and huge) dialogue.

About Age of Decandence, indeed, that is why I thought good to link AoD here, it might be the game that will put the ROLE back in modern RPGs.

Yields, that's how I outsmarted the Transcendant one and avoided combat with him, I don't rcall having wisdom of 24 though but it was possible because I ate some bugs that enhanced those stats. Later, I loaded for the sake of interest and got totally smashed by the Transcendant One but that is also because I changed class when I was quite far in the game. Also the ending was soo cool:D And the dialogues with Ravel and Transcendant One were outstanding.


Has anyone played Neverwinter Nights 2? As far as I know, the first part was quite good and I want to know whether the second part managed to keep its good sides or did it focus on graphics too much and paid less attention on other aspects?

I hope, Bethesda won't spoil the Fallout series, because so far I can call these excellent.

I haven't played Arcanum yet but I have heard that it is very good, so I should give it a try.

Arcanum is a bloody masterpiece, I STRONGLY advice you to give it a try... a unique game. And Troika had some members from Black Isle too. So expect quests with different outcomes and different ways of doing them, etc...


About The Transcendant One dialogue, man, there was soooo much different ways of convincing him Unbelievable.

I've played a lot of Role Playing RPG games, but sooner or later most of them get boring when you realize there will always be someone stronger then you . The only one that hasnt ever gotten boring is a game called Conqueronline, it's awsome and it's free .

i think thats the idea of an RPG, that someone will be always stronger than you, imagine that is didnt happen that, the game will become boring. I good example of this, are the sports and cars games, when you are playing solo, soon after youve master the technique youll get bored.

I think there are special adventures that do not require DM, though I am not 100% sure, but I think you should try to find some group to play with, because half the fun in D&D comes from good company, and I imagine it would be somewhat boring to play tabletop rpgs alone.

You could look around the internet for some information about this. One thing that comes to my mind is, that if you are a DM and a player at the same time, then you will know all you plans(DM's) so that might be a little disturbing. But I guess it's at least technically possible to play tabletop RPGs alone. I don't know much about scenarios but as has been said, there might be some that don't require DM and then you could play.
Doesn't anyone in your area play such games?

Well yeah it is very difficult to find people interested in such things here. Do you have any example of some scenarios ? (especially DnD)

You should check out d20 Modern. It is from Wizards of the Coast, and used the d20 system to play out any sort of campaign in the modern world. There is so much that can be done with it. The Urban Arcana setting is a favorite of many people.

Meh, im a huge RPG fan. Played all FF's besides the ones only available on PS2, played Diablo I/II, Chrono Trigger, played Planeshift while it was still in beta, played WoW, played Guild Wars, played MU, played lots and lots of other "unknown" single player RPGs such as Fallout 1/2, tried playing Lineage2 and probably tried many others.

Would like to give Lineage2 a second try, and also try playing LotRO which seems to be a good game (and the game some WoW players are migrating to).

I've recently downloaded some ancient pc rpgs: Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession, which takes place in D&D Ravenloft setting (the setting in which I'm currently playing D&D in also), which has terrible user interface and combats, so I haven't bothered playing it too much, Albion, which is pretty good and Worlds of Ultima 2: Martian Dreams, which takes place on Mars, and seems really cool, though I haven't played it very much yet.

@Raging Atheist : Do you, by any change, like the Ultima Underworld serie ? I'm trying to dig out some more fans heh.

Haven't tried them yet, but maybe after completing Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic I will try them, as I've heard some good things about them.

KOTOR and KOTOR II are hands down the best RPGs made for a video game release. The replayability of them is fantastic. Also, from the makers of KOTOR and KOTOR II is Mass Effect. Check out this and this too.

Yes, KOTOR's quite good, though main charactr's dialogue options are somewhat black and white.Still the NPC-s are great, they all have their own distinct personality and background.

I bought the DS just to play Pokemon, i think that is one of the best RPG ever, and now with online gameplay and the posibility of get all the pokemon, this games are awesome.

I Tried D&D once, and I didn't like it very much. But then again, it was a very fast and rushed game, perphaps I should give it another chance?

For videogame RPGs, I have to say, I liked the Tales of series the most. The menu based combat system in most RPGs just gets broing after awhile of playing it. Most games that have a good battle system do not have a good story, most of the "Tales" Games offer both a good battle system and a good story.
I have to say, I did enjoy final fantasy7 and V very much. Chrono Trigger, another classic.
Currently I am playing Warcraft III, kind of an RPG, more of strategy but oh well, and Neverwinter nights.

Oh man, that is too bad. We had a good game store around here but it closed as well. luckily I can buy the books for my RPGs online.

I would highly recommend giving it another chance. D&D, or any tabletop for that matter, can not be rushed. Their campaign games, not a card game. Now there are some table tops meant to last only one night, like All Flesh Must Be Eaten, but the others are designed to go weeks, months, heck I did one that lasted over a year!
