Philip Seymour Hoffman - I love his versatility as an actor. He can pull off the funny rolls like when he played Sandy Lyle in 'Along Came Polly', I love the sharted scene and the clearing his throat scene and especially the basketball scene (Rain drop, old school, WHITE CHOCOLATE.) I also like him in 'The Big Lebowski' and 'Twister.' Of course, what he is known for most are his powerful performances. Of course we all know he won Best Actor for 'Capote.' He also did a wonderufl job in 'Love Liza'; '25th Hour'; 'Magnolia'; and 'Red Dragon.' A great actor.
Brian Cox - In my opinion, Brian Cox is the man. Every movie he's in is great because of him, basically. I loved his roles in 'X2'; 'Troy'; 'Super Troopers'; 'Manhunter'; and I really enjoyed his rendition of Hermann Göring in the tv series 'Nuremburg.'
Edward Norton - Of course, another favorite. What can be said? 'Red Dragon'; 'Fight Club'; '25th Hour'; and my personal favorite 'American History X'.
Those are just three among many. Arnold, Chris Lee, Mel Gibson, Jeff Bridges, Ian McKellen, Jack Nicholson. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Easy, no particular order: Christopher Lee Rowan Atkinson John Hurt John Cleese Chris Barrie Aaand, a +1 for Tom Hanks too, Forrest gump alone makes him a great actor!

Liam Neeson is the only one who really gets the cake in my mind, i loved him in every role i have seen him in, but especially Schindler's List and as Qui-Gon in SW episode I. also great performances in Batman Begins and Kingdom of Heaven. i also like Tom Hanks for his huge versatility, to play Forrest Gump like he did, it was outstanding, also in Cast Away, Ladykillers and the Da Vinci Code

Right now, my favorite actor has got to be Cillian Murphy. While still somewhat unknown to major audiences, he is starting to gain a fantastic reputaion as a powerful actor. Red Eye, 28 Days Later, Batman Begins & The Dark Knight, Breakfast on Pluto, Sunshine, Cold Mountain and several other films. I really took notice of him with 28 Days Later, and then Batman Begins, but it was his role as Cappa in Danny Boyle's masterpiece, Sunshine.

The science behind all of it is very logical and not Star Trek crap. When I saw the film at the Asheville Fine Arts Theatre, I was blown away. Never before had a movie thrilled me like this one had.
