I voted Futurama. Sure, the Simpsons is a classic and I love it to bits, but Futurama is the most orginal, clever, and funny show I've seen in a while. It's jokes are intelligent, and although not everyone gets them, that's the beauty of it! it's like you're being rewarded for being able to understand these jokes one of my favourites would have to be when they were at the races, Fansworth loses his bet and yells... "You changed the outcome by measuring it!" P.S.: roughly half of the jokes on family guy were stollen from the Simpsons.

Futurama for me... FG and AD are both shows i can't stand to watch at all, and i never got into KotH, and well simpsons is jsut simpsons, its good it has it moments, it can't live up to the non stop antics portrayed in Futurama. heh

Futurama was so epic and original and for some stupid reason it was canceled in the prime of it's majesty. My mind can't comprehend what they were thinking when they canceled it...well, in any case, we always have the DVDs and the four movies...*sigh* memories.

I'm glad to see the majority of people on this board have sense! The Simpsons is the best and always will be. Everything that follows is just a pale imitation. Futurama is excellent (although was made by Matt Groening as well) and Family Guy is alright (but often has to resort to ridiculous things when they can't think of a joke, because simple being "random" is hilarious... aye... maybe when you're a 9 or 10 year old) but nothing can compare to the originality and sheer class of The Simpsons.

I voted Futurama because it's the more unique of the options. It's composed by random humor, that goes from clever to non-sense, also supported by some obvious jokes. The last show I seen taught me that the cute plush toys are at first living creatures waiting to be killed, removed all the internal organs and filled with sponge

Futurama all the way. It is just so original, funny. I can't see why they canceled it (at least it went out while it was good. Simpsons is also amazing, but its been recently going down hill...:hopeless:

I started watching FOX on Sunday evenings, so I guess I'm starting to think Simpsons is okay, I can't believe it's winning. I still like Family Guy the best, I like how they're so politically biased . The new episode they showed last week about Marijuana was the best!! they must've known 4:20 was coming up. "FOX News just called, they own the rights to Hitler's likeness and they won't allow him to be slandered" hahhahaha!

My vote went to Futurama - mainly for consistancy, which NONE of the others there managed. In saying this, full credit to the simpsons which is a legendary show nonetheless. Later seasons were off the ball. And The simpsons had the best movie. S they are a close second. The first two Family Guy seasons were amazing. Season three was good. Season four had its moments. Season five was fairly shit, with some good stuff thrown in. Much better when drunk. The rest. Is. Shit. Pure. Undiluted. Shit. Somehow they ditched everything that made them funny in the first place - the first couple of seasons were great - they were original (the humour was, not so much the nuclear family idea), they were just great. I used to piss myself laughing at that show - now, I dont bother with it. When American Dad comes on TV, I turn to the history channel. That program has taught me a lot. It took everything that was crap in family guy and made a new show from it. The creators of 'Joey' watch american dad and feel good about themselves. Its good to see common sense prevailing in the above posts at least. And re The Shape - Gervais is not funny? Are you having a laugh? Watch his standup shows. Seriously.

Another reason why I choose "The Simpson's". One of my middle names is Millhouse, that always cracks people up.

I know this is off topic, but South Park destroys all of these shows. My vote goes with Simpsons for being the first. The old family guy's are funny but they ran out of ideas IMO.

12.11.2009 - 05:28 Written by Irritable Ted on 11.11.2009 at 14:07 I've got to give you that one, since I haven't seen much of his recent work. I just love 'Animals' and 'Politics', although I didn't enjoy 'Fame' as much. I'll keep an eye out for this alleged cringing. I didn't think his appearance on "The Daily Show" was that bad. Anyway, to make this post relevant - go Futurama! This thread really comes down to Matt Groening vs Seth McFarlane doesn't it? Put like that, would anyone vote for McFarlane? And an edit - re Konrad: I would almost still go for Futurama based on consistency. SPs recent stuff edges them out. Also a Drawn Together fan.

I think this would be the perfect place to get this thing off my chest. I liked the Cleveland Show back when it was called American Dad, I liked American Dad back when it was called Family Guy, and I liked Family Guy back when it was called The Simpsons. The point I'm trying to make is that all of Seth MacFarlane's shows are exactly the same. The only differences they have are superficial. I chose The Simpsons, by the way.

02.11.2010 - 08:05 Written by [user id=25572] on 02.01.2009 at 12:08 They cancelled it because the dumbshits at the Fox network can't schedule for shit, they kept moving it around to different nights, then didn't clue in that perhaps the reason ratings were down is because no one had a fucking clue as to when it was supposed to be on. I remember watching it on it the very first night it aired, right after The Simpsons, then they moved it to a Tuesday to accomodate Sunday Night Football, then they moved it to a Thursday and so on. It's not the first time they made that fuck up, apparently The George Carlin Show suffered the same fate. I vote Futurama as well. What a great show that was.

02.11.2010 - 08:27 Written by Doc G. on 02.11.2010 at 08:05 they did the same with Family Guy, moving it from Sunday to go head to head with Frasier (when it was the top US comedy show) as well as Survivor... and they did it to Arrested Development as well, and that was probably the best written/performed network comedy show this decade. the same network recently moved The Good Guys to a Friday Night slot... perhaps signaling that show's inevitable doom. fun note... when Family Guy came back due to high late night ratings on Adult Swim as well as DVD sales, the first show back on Fox air opens with Peter coming home and announcing they had been canceled: "We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like: Dark Angel Titus Undeclared Action That 80′s Show Wonderfalls Fast Lane Andy Richter Controls The Universe Skin Girl's Club Cracking Up The Pitts Firefly Get Real Freaky Links Wanda At Large Costello The Lone Gunman A Minute With Stan Hooper Normal, Ohio Pasadena Harsh Realm Keen Eddy The Street American Embassy Cedric The Entertainer The Tick Louie Greg The Bunny" Lois replies "Is there no hope?", to which Peter responds: "Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot".

The Simpsons has gone on for about 12 seasons too many in my opinion. The earlier ones were awesome. Family Guy gets my vote.
