I notice how every one says hellhammer, but I recently heard rumours that he uses triggers....oh well hes still got some fast tom rolls & blast beats.

On a more serious note though: Isnt there any "official" worlds fastest drummer? Or are people just lining up fast drummer names here? if thats the case I will go with Flo Mournier for being incredibly fast, his works with cryptopsy is incredible and None So Vile is an awesome album.

Yeah, on previous pages people have mentioned Tim Westerson (i think that's his name), who won multiple speed drumming contests. I also believe he has some world records.

Intressting, will check some stuff out by him then. But just because there is speed doesnt make it fun ^^. Lets hope for the best

He is insane, he is amazingly fast porbally the fastest i would definatly say he is, not only can his double kicks sound like machine guns and make them go on for like 30 mins, but his work on blasts and fills is so quick and so amazing, he does it all so well and fast, its inhuman, and im not even kidding.

^^^ Yeah Derek's work with Malevolent Creation is absolutley killer,"In Cold Blood" has the fast blast-beats,and he holds them for along time.

Yeah, he was great in Hate Eternal as well, he left them last year though

I'm just coming up with this stuff off the top of my head but the Dragonforce drummer is really fast, the Berserker Drummer is too, every drummer slayer has every had was really fast and the last Testament album had fairly speedy drumming.

Don't know about the fastest, but George Kollias (Nile) and Flo (Cryptopsy) can get pretty insane at times with speed.

When I think of fast drummers I think of names like: George Kollias (Nile), Flo (Cryptopsy), Hellhammer (Mayhem, Dimmu Borgir) and Pete Sandoval (Morbid Angel). They are all fuckin' high speed drummers. Though Hellhammer is one of the best, because he's a great technical and fast drummer.

My vote goes to the guy from Decrepit Birth

I think your friend is right, but i'm not 100% sure. But the drummer wacks the snare drum like theres no tomarrow and is not slow at all. You can try listening to the song Follow me and you'll see what i mean by "wacks the snare drum like theres no tomarrow" , aside from the drumming it's just a very good song .

Just found an fricken awsome Dave Lomardo drum solo!, watch it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQpIpy1xU74 not all of the riffs he played were super fast but they all showed great skill.

Haha, naah...
But I don't think he's that bad... he's average and the drums are nice in many Metallica songs, but I would never answer "Oh... and Lars Ulrich" if someone asked me to name a couple of good drummers.

Remember guys, there are different types of drummers. For instance, a Black Metal drummer who beats on the snare and hi-hat and uses double bass attacks is going to be fast. But that is all he does. The same pattern over and over and over. But then you look at someone like Neil Peart or Mike Portnoy, and they can play with the same speed, but use it on 100 different pieces. Sure, Hellhammer is ridiculously fast, but it is limited.

I've heared many anecdotes about lars ulrich, he's not fast neither creative we all know this.
BUT, we all know that he is one of the METALLICA boys::: that's quiet enough.
For Speed...........I think that PETE SANDOVAL of Morbid Angel was the fastest and still. DEREK RODDY is also very Fast, I admire this drummer...Derek Roddy!!!

Yes there is, Mike Mangini is the fastest with hands and Tim Waterson is fastest with his feet.
As they are both quick I think that Kollias, Sandoval, Hellhammer and Flo are all equally good I know many people will not agree with that but if I had to choose a favorite it would have to be Pete Hammoura ex Nile he may not be the fastest but his damn quick, I worship his work on Amongst the Catacombs of Nephren-Ka.
