You sound so pit-hardened, man!

Well I haven't partook in a pit since last August but that changed when I was at Hellfest. I think pits are pointless and if I ever do get involved in one its because I'm defending myself or cutting through to get to the front. Anyhow, during Napalm Death at Hellfest a pit just erupted and everyone was pissing me of so there was a lot of blind berserk attacking on my behalf and I even whacked my boyfriend out of the way. Oh well, at least no one bothered me after that and I didn't get hit at all. Did a similar thing in the Bodom pit as well. Man, I hate spontaneous mosh pits. I just wanna watch the show!

Well not really an injury as such but somewhat on topic. I remember talking to some guy who broke his leg in some hardcore pit though.

So YAY I'm back with more injuries!

During Dying Fetus I hurt my thumb pretty bad in the pit last night, and every time I hit the space button on my keyboard I want to put my fist through my monitor. However, my real injury is to my elbow. I was very drunk last night, so I knew my shoulder and elbow were hurt, but I didn't think it was anything serious. When I woke up this morning sober, I couldn't even move my elbow lol. I don't know what's wrong with it, but I can't move it very far at all...

That pit was seriously br00000000tal.

oh, and I forgot to mention that I cracked my neck yet again.

low - i totaled my car on the freeway last night. i got hit by a Ford F350 going full speed (70 mph or so) and after that collision, a van hit me and rolled off the road. there were a total of 4 cars that got hit. news crews showed up and i was sent to the ER via ambulance, where i was at until 3:30 AM. i suffered a minor concussion and a fucked up neck, arm, and finger.
-lost some cds in the accident
-my Mexico trip my have become compromised, due to the accident

Plus, keep in mind that I got into a 70 MPH car crash a couple days later, so my body is kinda mad at me now.

Nile... some asshole tried to croud surf on women, and lets just say, i look up, and i see this guys big ass coming at my face.. my last thought was "ok, im going down." so i wake up on the floor of the pit with people trying to pick me up so i dont get trampled... the ONLY time ive ever been knocked out... and the guy didnt even apoligize.

Napalm Death... there is a metal barrier before the stage at this club BB Kings in NYC where the bouncers stand and grab anyone who tries to get onstage... but anyways, all these hardcore idiots were there, and me and the guy i was with were standing against the barrier in the front. all the people in the pit decide to rush the front. so theres about 100 people crushing me into the metal barrier thing.... my wrist got crushed in a weird position... and lets just say, the thickest part of the barrier is the top, and it was at boob level.

Just yesterday some bloke elbowed me and completely winded me. I puke three times after that...but just two weeks ago I jabbed my finger in the pit and my middle finger got alittle swollen, now it looks like it has settled but I can't help but notice my finger has a lump ( about 1.5 mm high ) on the joint of my finger...it looks like the bone has been jammed upwards and it looks alittle funny. Dont know what to really think of it.

True mate, I noticed I have a bruise were I got elbowed so that probably would be a good idea even though I feel better. ( more or less )

I usually avoid mosh pits when Im on some good quality concert, because i dont like to miss some good stuff because lying on the ground lol..
So its nothing special, just few painfull places because of someones Dr.Martens, bunch of cigaret burns, and my clothes soaked with beer.

I agree man, I'm not so fond of mosh pits either. I like to concentrate on the band and sing along.

I've never been injured in a mosh pit, but one time during a basement show, some metalcore band was playing and my drunk-as-hell-on-Colt 45 ass jumped in the pit, and when like 5 people pushed me away from the outer limits of the circles I ran head on into some other guy. My head hurt really bad, but after the band was done playing I found out that I broke his nose with my forehead! He wasn't even pissed off, we had a good laugh. He tried to look tough and act like it was nothing.

We keep a religious metalfest in my home town, and every year there are some great pits. This year, during a german band's performance, one guy fell down next to me during the pit. He was holding his head and lying in the floor. Me and another guy tried to lift him up, he stood about 2 secs and fell down again. He was taken to hospital, and later I heard he had a heavy concussion.
The worst thing that has happened to me was losing my mp3-player in the same concert. Otherwise some small bruises only.

None yet..my greatest accomplishment was wearing heels at a Municipal Waste concert and still moshing and headbanging without any damage to myself or my shoes..although I can't say I didn't injure anyone else with them! Haha I have also survived in pits in flip flops

nothing bad yet, just some punches in my face or chest, but no fractures or big deal

That's about it for me, too. Took me the rest of the night to find it. Of course when I'm really drunk I don't feel pain, so maybe there were injuries I didn't notice, and maybe they had healed by the time the hangover was finished. (I was hung over for three days once.) I've had such bad hangovers that I can't binge drink anymore. Not that I'd recommend binge drinking in the first place. Anyone ever done the Centurion? Or the 40 Beer? Ever had the floor leap up and hit you in the face? A truly strange experience...



But no verifiable injuries in the mosh pit - sorry to say.

Last time I was moshing, this fuckin' idiot pushed me really hard, I went flying backwards, and I hit this girl with my head. Fucked her up pretty badly...
I was OK, though

Never really suffered any injury in the pit. I once was at a punk show in July and it was mad hot and everybody in the pit was sweating bullets so I got drenched in other peoples sweat as well as my own. The next day I had a bad cold that lasted about a week. Talk about a sissy ass "injury".

at an ozzfest when i was 17, i broke one rib and cracked two others. worst break i've ever experienced. just breathing sucked.

Snowboarding has done that to me before. But never a mosh pit.

It's sheer hell to wake up in the middle of the night and you can't even draw a breath without extreme agony. And when you finally do breathe (because you'll die if you don't) your ribs make these ghastly popping noises in your chest and you're sure you'll pass out from the pain. I should've gotten drunk after I messed up that jump...

i've never broken anything while snowboarding, although i've gone home with plenty of cuts/bruises/headaches/sprains.

the first three-four weeks after that happened was absolutely horrible. my doctor gave me a back brace (to support the broken rib, i suppose), some pain pills, and said "good luck". lol.

I don't mosh. I am there for the music, people and atmosphere. Otherwise I would sign up for UFC.

LOL, well said. But the mosh pit has all three rolled into one exciting package. You could be missing out...

I think I would miss out more (of a band and music) if I did mosh.
I'll just stick with intense head banging and helping out bands with occasional chorus or air guitars.

Megadeth-I went and saw these guys and i was tearin it up in the pit and i ran around the edge of the pit to run into my friend and this guy stuck his leg out and tripped me. I ended up falling on my bad knee and i stood outside the pit for a little bit until it felt better. I didn't really think about what the guy did, I just figured it was an accident. But i wnet back into the pit and was stomping around and started to run to dive into a crowd of people and this guy tripped me again i fell on the same knee. I look up and i see this wasted guy laughing at me, so i punched this dude in the face as hard as i could, keep in mind i'm 6 foot 2- 250 pounds, this guy was half my size and out cold. the next day i had a huge bruse on my knee and i limped for about a week, but it felt damn good to hit that douche bag.

Aspirin Feast & The Gits- Seattle, WA

Well I was on acid..met Mia Zapata (lead singer of the Gits) in the bathroom, and couldn't believe she was just the girl I saw kicking ass on stage. A few years later she was murdered..anyway...

Being a bit wasted, I was all excited with "girl power" racing through my veins. I slammed into this guy- our faces crunched. I pulled it together real quick- I thought for sure he would come & kick my ass for sure...

Later at Denny's eating some breakfast, I went into the bathroom. I just happened to be wearing green make-up anyway. And being on acid- well you know what looking into a mirror does to you.

Needless to say the next day I had a huge black eye- just at the time I didn't feel it, and though my makeup was just tripping out.
