Not a very imaginative list, in my opinion. I am suspicious about lists that feature only big names. It makes me think the list maker didn't actually listen to that much stuff, since there's no reason an unsigned debut band couldn't make something as solid as a 20-year old vets. But then again, it's quite possible that the person really did enjoy those albums the most. There would probably be complaints that you list albums nobody's heard about just to be special, if you featured many underground gems.

Where's Dordeduh? Dar De Duh was fantastic.

19.12.2012 - 18:15 Written by Oaken on 18.12.2012 at 23:20 Listening to it now... not top 20 but I'll be talking about this album on our Best of 2012 You Probably Didn't Hear About show the week after next. I'll start a new topic but... what other great albums probably passed most metal folk by? 19.12.2012 - 18:44 Written by Godless Visions on 19.12.2012 at 18:15 Dordeduh in "You Probably Didn't Hear About" show? It's very well known and not that underground to be put in that category. It's got two reviews on MS, besides the many comments. In the "You Probably Didn't Hear About" show, you should include stuff such as Agruss, Alkerdeel and Verdunkeln. Now that's some obscure material, not Dordeduh.

Eh, it's all pretty relative. MS is its own microcosm, and folky black metal as a rule is fairly marginal. Though it's true Dordeduh was probably the biggest thing in black metal this year.
