This is a neat album, hey I don't listen to this kind of thing ever really but I like whats going on in this album. its actually a good one to put on just before bed, which is not something I would say about much black metal.

For me the album doesn't get better, it just remains an album that is too good to be true even after 15-20 spins. I bet you listened to it more than that, am I right?

^ I agree. The music never seems to really progress, unless it's just something I'm not hearing. I'm not put off by albums that have long tracks (Opeth is one of my favorite bands) but to me the songs feel like one long, tiresome, drumming noise. "Gong...Gong...Gong...Gong." Reminds me of the old man in Monty Python's Holy Grail, "Bring out your dead (Gong), bring out your dead (Gong)." Except it's that for more than an hour. It's not terrible music, but to me it's terribly boring music. Somebody mentioned above that they like to listen to it before bed, and that's about the only thing I would listen to this album again for.

Thing is summoning have an established sound and wont change, their music is meant to be played late at night with the headphones on, its hardly party music. I can understand people thinking its boring, but remember great music isnt always played at a mid-fast pace, as with doom/funeral metal.

Well, IMO people who find this album boring don't like atmospheric black metal at all, so don't judge or give a rating to an album representing a genre you don't like. At least TRY to avoid doing that.

^ Hahahahahahahaha. No. There are many different kinds of atmospheric black metal. Just because I don't love one it doesn't mean I don't love the entire style. Btw: i think this is just good but nothing more (I prefer older releases tbh).
