Not too long I guess. I think I started moving into metal around 2001-2002
Before that it was a lot of classic rock.

Started listening to metal regularly in the summer of 77 ... so, 35 years if my math is right ...

I started listening metal mmm... 3..4 years ago and i will my genre i love it:banger2:

I listen to metal since 2008, but with one pause from 2009-2010 where my friends made me quit for short, then after all, their opinion meant nothing to me so I restarted with metal.

On topic:
I've been officially listening since March 2011. That makes it 1 year 3 months. I also listened to some metal for nearly 3 months in 2010. So I've listened to metal for 1 year 6 months = 1.5 years.

Since about 1978 here.

I'd have to say close to 20. I remember listening to my dad's Metallica and Megadeth albums when I was about 7 years old...before I knew any better. I guess both bands were decent back then though.

I'm not sure what's more immature - making a friend stop listening to a certain type of music, or giving up a certain type of music for said "friends".

Almost a decade! and I remember when we had to walk 15 miles through the snow and rain just to get to the local speakeasy.

I listened to Metallica the first time when I was 14, and that's the only Metal I listened to until I was 17. So you be the judge, does just listening to Metallica sometimes count?

At 17 I got turned onto other metal bands when I started playing in a band. I wanted it to be a rock band and got outvoted so I had to learn how to play metal. I listened to a lot of Iron Maiden at first and then it picked up from there. I'm 23 now.

Uh since im 14... that would make 7 years I guess
