This is a thread for any questions that are quick and that do not require its own thread. Questions can range anywhere as long as they are appropriate.

Please post in this format if there is a large amount of questions:

If you are asking a question, please label it a question as it will be easier for other users to recognize.
Quote:

Question: What is the best Metal site?

If you are answering a question, please QUOTE the question and label your answer as "answer".

Question: What is the best Metal site?

Answer: Metalstorm.ee is!

Rules:
- Please follow the rules of posting.
- This is NOT a discussion thread.
- Do not comment a question about it being a good one or a bad one, as there is no need to.
- Only post in this thread if your are asking or answering a question.
- If your question is not answered, give it a few days. Chances are if nobody answers it for a while, its because they do not know the answer. If your question needs immediate attention, PM someone who would have the knowledge to answer it.
- There is no room for being funny here, that means do not post false information, or asking stupid questions. Doing so will get you reported.

If you have a question that is site related, please post it here in the Quick Questions Thread!

How do I play .ts files in my Windows Media Player?

Answer: I'm pretty sure you need to have additional plugins/codecs to be able to play .ts files in WMP. Alternatively, you could convert the .ts file to a .mpeg.

Thanks for answering. That is what I am looking for, for the right codecs and plug-ins. So far the codecs I have used allow me to open the videos, but the audio and the video go in separate ways and in slow motion.

I did a search and was able to find some codecs/plugins that should work, however I have not tested them out myself yet. Feel free to send me a PM if you're still having trouble with it.

Elecard codec - http://www.elecard.com/ftp/pub/mpeg/decoder/EMpgDec20.zip
HDTV - http://www.dvbportal.de/projects/hdtvpump/

As for the audio and video not being synchronized, I'm really not sure why that's occurring.

I already had Elecard installed in my computer but the version I have may be outdated by now. I will try it out again. The second link, I think I already tried when I did some codec hunting the past weeks. It didn't work but I will try it again. Thanks for the trouble, I owe you one.

I haven't got any experience with the mentioned program, but I use a program called Vdownloader. With this you don't have to convert afterwards. You simply just choose what format you want the clips to be downloaded in and it works perfect at least for me. If you don't have any luck with locating the file, try the mentioned program instead.

Question: With XBox 360, im thinking of buying one, theres not much difference between the 360 and the 360 Elite (not mentioning the arcade 360), the 360 has 60 GB and the 360 Elite has 120 GB, besides the difference in storage, does the Elite work any better than the 360? Im not a huge game geek so I wouldnt have a ton of games.

ok what ive found is that a .bin file is usually found with a .cue file and it tells you that it is an image of a dvd or cd...
to extract it the most popular way it it use MagicISO which can extract .bin files and convert them to ISoO or burn them to disc.

for .mkv i found this website because im not exactly sure what to do :S

i had this problem before so i hope this helps you a bit.

As for the audio and video not being synchronized, I'm really not sure why that's occurring.

It didn't work.

Is it essential you use Windows Media Player? When I find a file I can't play I generally try it on a different player. I have Windows Media Player, Winamp, VLC and Real Player (and Quicktime and my Dad has iTunes now that I think about it) so if it doesn't play on one, odds are it'll work on another. I just did some reading and VLC is said to support .ts files, so I'd think about downloading it if I were you (VLC is free in case you weren't sure).

I have been told that I should download and install graphedit and that it may resolve my problem, I have just downloaded it and I am just waiting to get home to see how it fails to resolve my problem (becoming a little pessimist already). Regardless, thanks for the tip.

A: it has to do with some jerk believing he knew everything about Death Metal and calling every user on MS a "fake poser" not realising that this would make them a non-poser and therefore a good thing
