Best intro and/or ending of a videogame

This thread is meant to have people giving away valuable information that some may desire to rather keep ignored to themselves because they haven't played the games and they would like to discover things, such as the ending of a game, by themselves. This means that you may read the following posts at your own risk for this thread is meant to have people mentioning those intros and endings of those videogames.
The best intro I have seen so far would be Metal Gear Solid 2 "Sons of Liberty" intro for it is incredible to see how the starting scenes resemble an action movie sequence. The way he runs through the bridge and how he jumps to the cargo ship is just amazing.
Among the videogames I have played I will have to mention Final Fantasy VIII as having the best videogame ending because of how funny it is to watch the ending credits with the homemade video that is presented and how they leave you in suspense regarding what happened with the main character. It is a really emotive ending for sure. Not to mention the touching ending of Final Fantasy X that almost made me shed some tears (yes, it is that sad).

The best intro and ending for me, belong to Shadow of the Colossus, the whole game its like a really good movie. And the most enjoyable ending ive ever seen is the Dog Ending of Silent Hill 2, it kills me, it so funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHU2eqCEJ4o see it and youll know what i mean.

Well, Starcraft endingare pretty awesome. All of them. They're funny or completely epic. The protoss ending where Tassadar pilots the ship torwards thh Over Mind is completely epic. Also in Broodwar the expansion, the ending for Zerg, "Queen of Blades" is pretty kick ass too.

imho the intro for Warcraft III is the best one, especially if you played WC2 and had no idea what WC3 was about, when that infernal hits the ground and kills the orc and the swordsman... also the ending for the expansion pack, when Arthas climbs the summit up to the Lich King is also great.

For me it's unforgetable the intro and final of Super Mario 64 ,... XD ... I enjoyed so much when I defeated the 3º Bowser ... XD

Final Fantasy intros are always great. Written by Ascalon on 25.01.2008 at 19:57 +1 I love that outro, also the outro of Yoshi's Island, when yoshi takes babies mario and luigi to their parents, and the music resembles to the old nintendo end-level sequence, cute.

The intro to "Quake" was intense, well at least the music. In fact, the music throughout the entire game was awesome. (Thanks Trent) Chrono Trigger and Earthbound had endings that I can still remember from childhood.

i think the newest zelda had an awesome ending where you find out one of the original bad guys from the other games is back and is controlling the one you thought was the bad guy

The intro to Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War It it the best  The best ending is in Warhammer 40000: Dark Crusade when you complete the game with Chaos marines , fucking aweome!

i cant remember the name of the game but it was one the old commodor 64 (i think) you had to find all these items in a house, and every time you got hit by an enemy, you lost about 20 minutes (or something like that) out of the certain amount of hours you had to find them all once you found them you had to get the key to the door, and then you finished the game took me years to complete and when i finally did it the last thing was the little man you use popping up and junping up and down i have never played it again @bullet dodger: hell yeah, i liked the nercons best though i think the new one is coming out soon, if it isnt already out

Written by Fuath on 04.02.2008 at 09:22 Man , I can't wait to play it , my favourites are the Imperial Guard and Chaos , as you see I find the commisars the coolest of the whole lot. BTW the Necrons are the hardest to beat on hard difficuilty skirmish ( At least in my experience).

Written by Bulletdodger on 04.02.2008 at 19:52 commissars? really? i liked the psychics for the imps best i thought it was hilarious when they cast the spell wrong and explode  necrons are a pain in the ass, unless you are the necrons have you tried skirmish of 8, where its all necrons? monolith mayhem!!!!!  sacrificing imps in campaign with chaos on the second one was pretty cool but thats probably because im a bit sick and twisted but then again who doesnt love blood and gore

The intro to Bioshock is awesome. The part were Andrew Ryan is talking about why he did what he did and then says "I made... Rapture" if you can call that an intro because its not really the beginning of the game.

Hmmm kinda hard to pick up an intro. Maybe something between FEAR, Metal Gear Solid 2, dunno. But the ending goes to Metal Gear Solid 3, no doubt about that. Maybe some of the Soul Reaver series.. (despite the "to be continued..." message).
