I voted Atheist, only because I don't believe in any creator or divine plan. Generally, I agree with the laws of science. Though, science is always changing, and information becomes obsolete. I have my own perceptions on things, and believe what I think makes sense. I can't devote my beliefs to any religion, scientific theory, or philosophy. I just take things as they come. My ideas on things are always changing, as is my view on life and the afterlife. In reality, I don't think anyone can be completely certain of what happens after death, or knows what the meaning of life is. Believing in something to it's full extent, without question, and without an open mind to other ideas... To me, is pointless. Don't get me wrong, I realize not all people involved in organized religion agree with everything within that religion. I just don't agree with anything enough to assimilate myself into any system of belief. I live life the way I want to, do what I want to do, and do everything I can to support my lifestyle. Religion means absolutely nothing to me.

I voted Atheist, 'cause after some years in catholicism, and obviously learning about other religions, I realized very personaly that any idea of life patterns, abstract explications and human morality really seduce me. It's just any religion it's based in something arrived from heaven or hell, everyone it's based in myths and human tales, and I really distrust on something created or manipulated by humans. That's why I preffer to take another way, really more comfortable, to don't believe in anything and really disapointed with catholic church, I'm walking in other kind of spiritual discovering, the discovering of myself by myself, after that process I will be able to BELIEVE in something.

I'm an agnostic / chaotic but I can label myself as an atheist too because I do not believe in gods, only in powers. for me chaos is the ultimate of all, it is here before the big bang and it will also be here after the end of cosmos and everything! chaos = freedom = life as it is insanity, destruction and death, it is everywhere and nowhere at the same time!

Atheist, I do not believe that some divine creature had created this world and the life in it and is torturing them so much, if any of you had created something will you keep it safe or make it worship you blindly and live his life for you only? I believe god is just a thing humans invented in order to fill in their blanks in knowledge, most of the things that are considered to be miracles and god's doings have a scientific explaination, no god, no ghosts, no nothing, simple physics and chemestry, I take the bible and every religious text as metaphoric and nothing more, not a manual and not the words of a creature that is said to have created the world 6000 years ago and there are evidance that the world is over 4.5 bilion years and the universe is something like 13 bilion, before I will have a really good and reasonable proof that there is a god my mind shall remain put

I am an atheist. I have to say that probably the list of the survey is quite incomplete, you could have put Christianity altogether and leave Shamanism out, inserting something else (like Satanism, as someone pointed out). Then, obviously (serious) satanism is not the worship of the christian Satan, but of oneself. It mainly promotes freedom to do everything you please, without hurting others against their will.

28.05.2008 - 18:23 Written by Varegan on 19.05.2008 at 00:47 Well, I am a sinner, we all are, I talked to metalhead priest (who do not understand the lyrics though...) that when music speaks to the heart, it can be only a good thing (what I found quite naive, but if a priest says so, I'm free to hear what I want, God save casuistism!). And I'm sure God is not against music... and I have serious problem with authority, what makes me quite heretic, hahaha! But the one who never sinned shall throw the first stone (and then a huge stone hurt the woman in the face, Jesus turned back and said "oh, come on, Mum!" ...hahaha (forgive my stupidity!))

I guess I'm kinda Catholic by origin (been batised), but I'm definitely Atheist by my own choice... so Atheist it is... why I don't believe in any higher being? Well, I'm simply not a believer. The possibility of one being controlling lives of every human & animal and our entire world is absurd to me... call it whatever you want, but I'm just realistic; until I see it I won't believe it...

I voted for Atheism. " is man one of god's blunders, or god one of man's blunders_ Nietzsche" No offends, BUT I've got this simple question: why mentioning S.A.T.A.N.ism will be considered as spam while you inserted islam in possible choices. is THEISTIC S.A.T.A.N.ism worse than islam?? i don't think so... or what??

I picked other. None of the above really describe my beliefs. I don't follow any organized religion whatsoever, but I would definitely see myself as religious. I believe in divinity (whether sentient or not) and I believe there are other planes of existance than this one. As a matter of fact, I myself am fairly certain there is something out there (or not "out there", but more paralel to here), but for reasons I won't disclose here. On the other hand, I also do not believe that these otherworldly forces I speak of will grant you an afterlife if you do their bidding in some strange way, as well as I concede that we cannot even know what their bidding even is, unless they were to say it to us in a way that we could understand. Therefore there is no defenitive code or law that needs to be enforced in order to serve these beings. Therefore, I do not believe in good and evil. I only believe in cause and effect, which is what motivates me to act in the manner I do (seeing what for me is the most desireable outcome of a situation and determining the cause that triggers this desired effect and acting to trigger this cause). In short, I believe in a supernatural presence. I seek to understand this supernatural presence, but all organized religion I've ever been in contact with reeks of hypocritical lies and it just seems like they want to use their followers for the purpose of their own power. I also understand that I currently don't understand this supernatural presence that I can fathom, and even if I hope to do so one day, I can't let myself be governed by some rules that I don't even know if there is anybody out there that wants me to follow. Therefore I have substituted good and evil with cause and effect, and walk around trying to understand what else there is here, that walks just beyand what we can see, but without trying to push anything that I don't even know much about myself on someone else. That would be hypocritical. I'm sorry about how little sense this post might make to people, but it makes perfect sense to me.
