Here's a mini theory (or expanding upon the existing ones in this thread)
fit metal chicks don't often dress metal styled because normally they get the attention they desire already from non-metal fan and metal fans alike
those with a more robust body figure do not get enough attention that they desire and hence dress more metal as a self proclamation and may attract more attention from male metal fans

This totally applies to me lol

I've been at both ends of the spectrum here. I was never overweight but I definitely wasn't fit and it really didn't look good.

As for metal dudes dating fat chicks, like many have said, that's pretty common in the US. But I also notice that the dudes who date the fat chicks aren't all that good looking themselves so I think it goes both ways.

The really hot metal guys usually do have hot girlfriends though.

Manboobs and beerguts also got mentioned. Those are gross! lol

I also agree with looking presentable. Shirts with holes, unbrushed hair, clothes that don't fit, shoes that are falling apart = not attractive! This goes for guys and girls. I've seen some pretty gross lookin chicks (not necessarily fat, just gross).

Just get in my mind, to get good looking GF you shood work hard and be in your bets, because good looking there many who can pick her up, but many metleahds simply dont want work hard even to look good

Unless they were hideously obese, then it wouldnt matter to me, no. But it obviously does matter to some metalheads. Ive gone to a few youtube videos were people are criticising how the band member looks, or saying that they're "fat" even in when a lot of cases, they're nothing more than slightly overweight. Or maybe not even overweight at all. Its metal music, not a bloody fashion parade, so I dont think how band members look, whether it's in regards to their weight or not, should matter one iota. Its a total myth that metalheads aren't as superficial as other people. They are just as superficial.

Women hmmmm moust of singers are fit what I know , of Vibeka some goes fat, I prefere slim, but I doubt tarja, Liv ever be fat

Females however, Im struggling to think of a single female in a famous metal band who could be classed as physically unattractive. Like in most other aspects of life, especially in the public eye, women are judged far more on their physical appearance than men are.

That is quite true I guess. If you're female and unattractive, most wont care how you good or talented you are as a musician. If you're attractive, most will be more interested in your looks than your singing/playing. But I suppose that's what happens if you're female struggling for recognition in a male dominiated world. Just came back from holiday in Mexico, Cancun where there are loads of American couples (stayed at a couples only hotel). Guess what? Most of them are pretty fat in my book, but I doubt most of them are metal heads unless I am mistaken
