I picked up the new Baroness, Blue Record on a lunch break genuinely wanting to like it. I took a chance on this album, not being sure what to expect having never listened to sludge metal or anything of the sort, and it''s actually become one of my favorite releases of the year.

I had not heard Baroness before picking it up (had heard a lot OF them, and am a fan of some sludge bands) and it met/exceeded my expectations. i've listened to it several dozen more times since the review and am still quite fond of it. it's on my short list... top 4 or 5 best albums of 2009.

I picked this album up on a whim a couple days after its release and I can't remember how many times I kept playing it. It quickly became one of my top albums of 2009.

This has to be one of the best album covers of 2009, beautiful painting, that's something else that all the CGI shit we're being tsunami'd with nowadays... John Baizley is the one who does their covers, right?

Boring are you kidding me!!! This is the album (and also the Red Album) that made me fall in love with sludge metal.. i never new sludge was so beautiful.. This album totally changed my view of sludge.. This here is the gold of sludge!!!
