Wintersun - is it real? Well, no, it isn't. We hardly see the sun; for four whole weeks, it never shines. Allow me to copy the style of DerRozzengarten (the greatest reviewer ever), who knows how to write proper metaphors. Such music is never meant to explain northern life for people who have never actually walked on a frozen river or cleared snow from their car before work (I'm not taking a jab at the French, Dutch, or Danish, who usually overreact when they see 1 cm of snow). Imagine the pre-internet days: it's blizzard beasts, mid-winter, the sun never shines, just 22 hours of darkness and twilight in between. There is nothing to do, only good music, books, or finding a way to channel your creativity. Outside activities, aside from collecting firewood and cleaning snow? I don't think so (but wait a minute, Jari lives in the city anyway?). Anyway, the streets are dead and frozen, the horizon is dark, and night light is ablaze on the snow. Lovely album, at first I was disappointed this was the sequel to Wintersun - Wintersun. But it grew on me, unlike the Forest Seasons, that I still trying to grasp some catchy melodies.

I love this album, so much better than their debut. The rhythm and lead guitar along with the symphonies compliment each other so well that I think it's pretty safe to say that in the 10 years since its release, no Symphonic band has topped this album. Mind blowingly catchy and melodic, riff after riff of pure ecstasy. Sets an insanely high bar for all music in this or similar styles, and no matter how many times I relisten, this remains the case. One of the best albums ever.

^ Hilarious. So, instead of working on the album that was supposed to come out around 2007 and that's "90% done" (yeah, right) they are currently working on some random new shit. I had a look at their Patreon, which is just ridiculous. "Switching pickups" "Teemu's Favorite Stratovarius Riffs" Who the hell are the 156 suckers that pay 10 quid a month for this shit that shouldn't even make it to Youtube?

If I remember correctly in his horrific crowdfunding he said that he would do a second crowdfunding to finish building his sauna. That meant there was a second album in the works that should be done by today (which of course isn't Time II) but five years later it's only half done. I really don't understand this big nose.

Someone on YouTube said this album would fit well with playing Valheim. I considered this, but then I remembered that Valheim has a really good soundtrack. Also, I find it odd how nobody thus far has pointed out how "Land Of Snow And Sorrow" is just a variation of "Ferrum Aeternum", made blander by a slower tempo and uninspired distorted guitar parts.
