Kai Hahto (born in 1973 in Vaasa, Finland) is a Finnish drum-teacher and the drummer of the Finnish metal band Wintersun, and the former drummer of grindcore band Rotten Sound. Beside these, he has played in many other bands, with styles varying from black metal to jazz.
He is use Pearl Reference, Reference Pure, Masters Premium, Vision drums, Meinl Cymbals, Evans drumheads, Balbex drumsticks, Roland TD-30 + electronics and Finfonic ear protection. Hahto Used to played with a handmade Kumu drumkit.
His All-time favorite Metal albums would be Porcupine Tree - Fear Of A Blank Planet, Iron Maiden - Piece Of Mind, Death - Human, Katatonia - Night Is The New Day, Metallica - Ride The Lightning, Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine based on his page on Wintersun official website.
After he recorded Wintersun album Wintersun and long time awaited album, Time I, as a drummer with Jari Mäenpää, Jukka Koskinen and Teemu Mäntysaari. He is working with Wintersun on their yet to be released album Time II.
