It's hard not to get swept up by the plenty of fist-pumping anthems on Armageddon Sunrise. One Bullet Left are pistol whipping the listener with twelve tracks that are catchier than herpes. These are the kind of songs that get the blood rushing... in a good way. I mean, most of the songs are so awesome they can probably cure cancer.
The album is a burst of chaotic energy, but the band manages, admirably, to keep enough dark - read: metal - edges in that melodic sound of theirs. Though the metalcore influences are apparent, this stays far away from the plenty of stale and reheated affaires out there.
These were fifty minutes of modern melodic death metal that, for a change, didn't make my brain bleed. Instead I even believe this band has all the potential to leave an impact on the listener that is about as powerful as a sniper shot through a brick wall. I'm well aware the melodic death metal label carries quite the negative connotation nowadays, though this album is vastly superior in almost every way imaginable to a lot of the material released in this genre.
Neat way to make a debut.
