Not a big deal I suppose... and the presence of the demos actually saves the album.

Amazing to see how far they developed from this... guess everyone needs a starting point.

Sounds like a very bad version of Darkthrone.

The current controversy surrounding their lyrical inspiration is certainly something to be discussed. I read through that interview and they definitely don't come across as what I would consider to be "nice" people. Their anti-censorship stance is admirable, but their particular reference of population control via gassing is disturbingly specific.

Anyone who prefers this time period over the Mikko Aspa Si Monumentum era care to explain why, if any?

It's a nice album but nothing more. For this kind of Black Metal I listen to Clandestine Blaze.

Thank you, because when I see the same purist contrarian views to the marginally accepted work all the time they seem to think equally sheepish without being objectively subjective if that makes sense. How can one listen to the same trad bm and not fall asleep, let alone be inspired is another story unless it's for the sake of it which defeats the purpose of art. Still need to seriously hear Clandestine Blaze.

You can start by listening the split Mikko did with Deathspell Omega in 2001.

I can understand this album not being too special but where the hell is that 5.8 coming from? This should be a high 6 / low 7 by MS standards
