This is a very strong debut, and the level of quality in the instrumental performance is high. The guitar work stands out naturally, but what really keeps this album from stagnating is excellent songwriting and memorable tunes. The vocals are really the only thing which stopped me from rating the album higher (That aspect of the sound didn't particularly impress me as much as the instrumentation or production), but they are still decent without any comparison. Highlights for me would definitely be the title track and the instrumental 'Northern Sky'.

This album epitomizes great power metal to me. Not a shred of cheesy sound, just killer riffs and solos everywhere, and vocals that have a bit of rasp in them, and music with some edge. And it's got my favorite style of rhythm guitar beneath: those long, open power chords beneath the lead. It's one hell of a road trip album, too. If only power metal sounded like this all the time I'd be craving each new band I came across!

Power metal with balls, none of that unicorn molestation synth stuff. Very nice debut with great vocals and awesome catchy riffs.

Very good album. Lyrics wise it's your typical power metal stuff. In that aspect I would say that for instance "The Premonition" is better. However this album has some fantastic riffs and great drumming. I also really like the production on this record. It has a bit of a rough edge in a good way. It makes it sound unique. Something I miss in most of the other Firewind records.

Definitely worth a listen.

Bad English

This is good album between PM and HM where PM takes 70% of sound and not chease into it, but there are no killer songs, hit songs what you can put on pla list and play over and over again.
