Sepultura have some good stuff, especially during the Cavalera era, but they still don't beat Death. Roots and Chaos AD simply can't compare to legendary albums like Symbolic and TSoP.
I would say they are Death's two weakest albums. Symbolic is ok but TSOP is just bad to me.

Definitely Death. Love Sepultura, but I don't nearly return to their albums as much as I do Death.

Im gonna be a rebel and say Sepultura, I really like both bands but Death is just too overated and when Sepultura had Cavalera they were righteous, still are good in my opinion.

Sepultura vs. Slayer would be epic.
But thrash vs. DM is kinda strange.
I go Death hands down though.

Sepultura for me, I can't get into Death's stuff. I still have alot of respect for them as they influenced some of my favorite bands though!

Death is just too overrated.
I agree with you there, Although I enjoy most of Death's work everything after Spiritual Healing is way over hyped.

+1 Sure it's good, but people saying Symbolic is the best metal album ever...
Chuck's vocals don't connect with me either.

Oh well, I love chuck's vocals personally, and I think symbolic is a great album... not the best ever though loll. I also love Individual, human and perseverance. Sure its totally different from the earlier death but its still good, over hyped or not lol

I don't mind Chuck's vocals until Symbolic / Perseverance where they got too "shrieky" but on Symbolic the music saves it. Everything up to and including Symbolic is worth getting IMO but the Quality varies a lot in those releases, Spiritual healing and ITP being above average/decent, Human and Symbolic are good and SBG and Leprosy are the essentials.

SBG and Leprosy are the essentials.
100% agreed, other essentials are the demos (both as death and as Mantas)

Well there are quite a few demo compilations around, albeit all are bootlegs.
