No need to dick around. This is a band with fucking hair on their chest. This is a band whose sound is so inflaming it makes hell look like a girl scout campfire. This is a band you should check out, like, right fucking now. That's basically the short version of this review.

For the uninitiated, Aurora Borealis is a long-running US-schooled extreme metal band, bringing a lethal mix of death, black and god knows what else. Timeline is already the band's fifth studio release - their first in as many years - and follows about the same formula that earned them recognition. Needless to say, this is the kind of thing that will tear you to shreds.

Now for the five people interested in the exciting second half of my review...

What makes this band even more evil in nature are the raw-as-fuck vocals. Pouring an infinite amount of hatred directly into your ear canal, these harsh black metalish shrieks are so vicious they will make you sleep with a nightlight on.

As you might have guessed, this is one of those albums that breathes an air of hospitality. There's only one little problem with such an approach: the accessibility. You see, inasmuch as Aurora Borealis opts for difficult song structures, syncopated rhythms and constant tempo changes, the number of memorable tracks is close to nil. For this reason, dealing with such a menacing slab of blackened death metal can become a tough thing to do. A strong stomach might therefore be required.
