Forget about the ORIGINAL big four of thrash. There are tons of amazing thrash bands from the US who are on level with the big four. My new big four: Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Death Angel

Yo. This one offers more opportunity for discussion too, considering it isn't limited to only US bands. PS: If you're going to pick a new big four, why not actually pick new bands? Exodus, Testament, Overkill and Death Angel have all been around the block for quite some time.

09.08.2011 - 17:43 Written by Troy Killjoy on 09.08.2011 at 17:06 Exactly my point; those bands were around in the time of the big four and they didnt make it in the 'big four' (although i think one or two of'em should've been big) so, a "second big four" could be new bands; i 'd go for: Havok, Onslaught, Warpath, Gama Bomb.

Yea sorry this is an overdone topic on many metal forums. Have to agree as well that a "new big four" should include new bands not bands that didn't make the cut on the first go around of "The Big Four". However I have always felt it should've been "The Big Five" (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Testament) but that's neither here nor there, lol. Maybe I'll make a new thread about it, anybody know if that's been done already? Haha...

Already done to death folks. Not to mention that Exodus, Testament, and Overkill are very well known with metalheads. Still, I'll opine and toss in four newer thrash bands. Vektor- Progressive thrash, somewhat like Voivod http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSzKxOdxVJ4 Merciless Death- As their Dark Angel derived name would imply, they are more extreme than most of their thrash reugrance peers Toxic Holocaust- You know these guys already, unless you suck.
