Regardless of whether you view Devin Townsend's work as that of a genius or confusing, there's no denying he is prolific and worshiped by many and built an underground cult-like following.
Following the recent release of Strapping Young Lad's third album SYL in February, the Canada's very own metal chameleon has delivered yet another masterpiece in little under two months! Accelerated Evolution indeed!

Awesome album, though not perfect. This really does showcase how melodic devin townsend can get when it comes to songwriting. And for that reason,it works really well:)

My God, that bonus disc is great.

Agreed. Electronica Devin is just... wow. I'd totally buy a full album of his if he delved in that style.

Me too, that would easily beat his last 3 albums in my opinion.

One of the best Devin's records with The Devin Townsend Band, in my opinion. Catchy yet progressive, bombastic yet emotional, melodic yet heavy.
My favourites: Storm, Slow Me Down.

I overlooked this album for a long time. Hard rock Devin works really well, basically every song here is excellent in one way or another, especially "Depth Charge", "Storm", "Traveler" and "Slow Me Down".
