Severe Torture vs. Blood Red Throne

These are currently two of my favorite death-metal/brutal death-metal bands and have both release multiple otherworldly, quality albums the past few years. Severe Torture has put out both Sworn Vengeance (2007) and Slaughtered (2010). Blood Red Throne has released Souls Of Damnation (2009) and Brutalitarian Regime (2011). On the strength of those four albums alone, each band is among my absolute favorites right now.

I'm curious: who do you like better, and if you'd like to share: why?

Blood Red Throne by far. Severe Torture always came across as boring to me, but BTR's groovy/catchy brand of death metal is just awesome. Their debut ranks among one of my all-time favorite death metal albums. When "Portrait of a Killer" starts to play I just want to fucking smash things.

Yeah I'm going with Blood Red Throne as well, I tried to listen to Severe Torture many times, but there is nothing special in their music. I don't know if would change my mind in future, but that's it for now.

Yep, Blood Red Throne for me. My favorite album is Altered Genesis.
Severe Torture doesn't do it for me although their latest album is good.

I'ver actually listen to both bands quite a bit

And I'm gonna go with BRT aswell, I just would rather listen to them, they keep me entertained.

Never even heard of Severe Torture.
