Bleh, after the last two albums, I have no hopes for this.

Jeroen Paul Thesseling is still in the line-up.....
Which means......he left without finishing the job in Pestilence....
What does that imply??

I really wish Pestilence would stop using 7-string guitars, and get back to the style of their earlier works...

Jeroen already left before they started recrording the new album.

The reason he is mentioned int he line-up here is because of some weird thing to do with how the database of MS works.

Mameli needs to get kicked out. And Van Drunen Needs to come back. And ditch the whole pregressive noodle death metal. Bring back the death thrash. Or you could just say fuck Pestilence because they have been shitty for a long time. And go listen to Asphyx, Grand Supreme Blood Court, and Hail Of Bullets.

And go listen to Asphyx, Grand Supreme Blood Court, and Hail Of Bullets.

You're referring to one original classic band and two shameless cash grabs/clones made by the same people.
Thatnk you, I'll stick to Asphyx and Pestilence.

Seems like they got rid of that godawful artwork, and replaced it with something decent. Still have low expectations for the album though, hope it can surprise me...

Just heard samples (1:30 per song) of the whole album, and I think this one is going to be their best album since the reunion. I didn't hear anything that would lead me to think that this album will be on the level of their classic albums (although "Necromorph" sounded amazing), but it definitely sounds more engaging and interesting than their first two post-reunion albums. I'm quite looking forward to this one now!

Actually I like Hail of Bullets better than Asphyx, of course they are similar, but they sound different to me, Hail of Bullets a "faster" version os Asphyx as for Grand Supreme Blood Court, it was pointless indeed. I just don't get the hate on Hail of Bullets.

And I hope that this album surprise me

Hail Of BUllets has only 2 Asphyx people in it whereas 4/5 of TGSBC is Asphyx/ex-Asphyx. HoB is very different to Asphyx (only Martin's vocals are the same) whereas TGSBC is a total clone/cash grab especially targetted at Germany where they lap up such stuff like mad.

I'm listening to it right now, while the vocalist just slays, the music itself is BORING. To be more accurate, the guitars are plain boring, and then the rest can't help too much.

Agree. When Necro Morph leaked out, the boring guitar riff really bothered me and made me pessimistic about this release. No matter what, I think this boring arrangement is the inheritance of concepts that arranged Resurrection Macabre and Doctrine. Mameli should never adapt such template to do music again...

I remember when Doctrine Released, everyone were saying the same, it was a really bad and bored album. but I heard it and learn not to prejudge about this band when they release new albums. It wasn´t Comsuming Impulse of curse, but that´s not a bad thing.

For me the instrumental performance here is almost top-notch. However, the one thing I just can't get into is the vocals, which despite sounding awesome when the guy screams, are otherwise a bit ludicrous compared to how well each instrument is played. The guitar work is obviously the focal point here, working up solos which are really beneficial for each song, but the drum rhythms can be awesome too, as on 'Laniatus' and 'Saturation'.
