Their debut is even better.

The first two albums are indeed awesome. They never came near to that level ever again

I love at least Prisoners In Paradise too. Their first two come back albums isn't that bad either.

Thanks to having a premium Spotify account, and for some reason, having an urge to listen to some Europe, I heard this album and the debut for the first time yesterday. I really can't believe this is the same band that made all that pop-rock sap in the late 80's! There's some awesome metal on those albums, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if some later power metal bands and even melodic death bands, took some inspiration from these great works. On a few occassions I was reminded of Dio's prime material of the same era, which is high praise indeed.

Much like Def Leppard, I wish these guys had stuck with their earlier style, even if their pop rock is better than most other bands in that genre. "Wings Of Tomorrow" is absolutely classic stuff. I'm just a bit peeved that it took me so long to discover it. Amazing album!

And you just discovered it yesterday? Wow

Yep, I just discovered it yesterday... lol You have a soft spot for "The Final Countdown"? I won't say it, cos I'm sure you know what I'm thinking!

As an overall album, "The Final Countdown" is definitely weaker than the first 2 albums, but if we're comparing it with other hair metal of the time, it is vastly superior to the material released by the vast majority of those bands. Songs like the title track, "Danger On The Track", and "Ninja" are actually amazing songs that I love a lot. As a whole, it's probably a better album than "Hysteria", I think...
