They are still pretty tight live, nowadays.

This album easily shits on Immolation's first three albums. Amazing death metal.

We got a lot in common!!!!!

Welp, except for SEL, always thought that anime was pretentious crap with a decent opening.

So I asked John if there's any beef between him and Craig Pillard and if he would do a reunion to play this album in full.

He said that he tried once but Pillard refused, he's still interested in working with him (he never considered him as a friend, just a co-worker) but he also told me that's next to impossible considering the current climate in the scene.

No real loss, Pillard's vocals are a dime a dozen.

And yet he's still the best vocalist they ever had.

Good, but a bit one-dimensional for my tastes.

I find the tone immensely satisfying and the growls are undoubtedly some of the best in the business, but the songwriting itself is an unfortunate let it down for me tbh, other than the actual sound and tine it lacks memorability for me.
