I'm not a big fan of Djent and this album is no exception. Although I liked these Jazz interludes ("Fearless" 1 & 2) and surprising vocals in "Faceless Source", also length is sufficient for me.

This is not djent. It's prog metal played with extended range guitars.

I thought more people would dig this to be honest. For a prog metal band they have an arse load of balls and sound far more interesting than 95% of djent band in recent times.

I know right?! I am surprised the Jeff Loomis/Animals As Leaders fans aren't eating this band up!

I think that this is primarily djent to my ears, with a small touch of prog. I guess the distinction lies with the guitars? Someone feel free to correct me. I'm not incredibly into djent , but the album is thoroughly listenable and filled with excellent moments. An early contender for best djent album of the year.

Djent has been developing it's own style which depends a lot on a kind of atmoshpere and melody as well as that "special guitar tone", others could explain that better than myself, but that is a basic nutshell explanation. This band does feature extended range guitars that do have that "special tone" about them but to my understanding the style of the music is not djent, it's progressive.

I think that's a pretty good explanation of it. At the very least, I would say that the album is influenced profoundly by djenty rhythms, much more so than the prog that is also prominent in the record. But that's just me. Either way, this is pretty decent stuff.
