Epica - Release Clip From Upcoming DVD

Epica present us today a clip from the forthcoming Retrospect DVD. This is the first full song taken from the release which is now available to watch. Enjoy the band performing "Unleashed" (from Design Your Universe) below. This show was recorded on their 10th anniversary where the band was accompanied by the seventy piece Extended Reményi Ede Chamber Orchestra and the Miskolc National Theatre Choir.

Guitar player Isaac Delahaye comments: "We hope you enjoy watching this first Retrospect song. 'Unleashed' is just a killer live track, and it contains all the Epica elements you're looking for. I still enjoy playing it night after night, and it keeps my headbanging skills sharp!"

Retrospect will be released as a deluxe hardcover book with 36 pages, both as a 2DVD/3CD and 2Blu-ray/3CD version, on the 8th of November through Nuclear Blast. Check out the release trailer here and more details over here.

I wouldn't also say it's bad, she's just singing it differently from the album.

Different? Yes, Different in a good way? no. I'm not saying she has to sing exactly as the album, but if she's going to sing different
at least she could do it right. What i mean, she is running out of air constanctly, and her high notes are so short and bad supported. She is not a good singer, in my books of course.

Sounds fine to me. No live performance is going to be perfect. At least it shows that they haven't just added the vocals in the studio afterwards.

Hope the whole DVD hasn't got all of those lights flashing. Can barely see what's going on on the stage.

Not saying it has to be perfect, if that were the case it would be very boring. But it has to be good. She's struggling , running out of air, and i've already seen the whole dvd, and this is one of her best perfomance in there, which is not saying that much. I've also had the opportunity to see them live, and, shit, she is getting worse and worse..

Those vocals are horrible... And I thought I would be getting the blu-ray release to rip the audio to my collection!

(I love Epica so much but I couldnt stand this for more than a minute...)

You can't expect a singer to perform to their best standard for two hours. Singers pace themselves to last the whole show and tour.

Have you seen the Black Symphony dvd/blu-ray? This is amateurish work in comparison...

I agree about that. I expected more from the editing/filming side of it.
