Giant Squid continue to evolve. They are hard to put in a box because every song is a tantalizing experiment. Minoans reveals itself slowly with shorter songs, powerful blasts and instrumental finesse. There is refinement in the melodies and a perfect marriage between the voices of Jackie Perez Gratz and Aaron Gregory. The enticing cello and sorrowful atmosphere of the songs form layered waves of exotic sounds. Giant Squid gracefully offer us another treasure from the sea.

Shit is out there...REALLY out there...I can see this will take time getting used to. I haven't listened to these guys in awhile, don't remember them being this avantgarde.

Objectively a very good record but for some reason I don't like the sound of it. Cenotes EP was considerably more appealing and enjoyable to me. I.

I knew it'd be staff-picked the moment I heard it.  I love the atmosphere but the male vocals take some serious getting used to.

Obsessed with this one. Love how the vocalists's voices harmonize, one of the best vocal duets I've heard.

Apart from the magnificent songs back to back, especially "Palace Of Knossos" and "Sixty Foot Waves" are spectacular to me. And at times it kinda reminds of Grayceon who I love because of Perez Gratz vocals.
