Progressive Death Metal
Jun 28, 2016
The self-titled EP by Frenchies Barús is fantastique. Four separate tracks of slightly proggy death with vision, each with their own unique feel and vibe. Listened to this more than a dozen times now over three months, each time enjoying it while hating myself for not pounding out a review saying how much I enjoy it. Thus ends my confession. Hold not my sins against the band. Check it out.

Wow, a good rec from flighty. Was going to happen one day I guess =P Sort of like MeshuGojira meets Diskord or something, but ultimately more indefinable than that. 'Cherub' gets pretty destructive.

Nice art too. Obviously done by the guy / girl that did Embrace of Thorns latest one I reckon.

Oh shit this is some fantastic death metal. Similar in quality and (vaguely in) style to the Oakazaki Fragments album from this year. Joe's "MeshuGojira meets Diskord" comparison is quite apt as well, although I here a bit more avantgarde in there at points. Great shit

I love the vicious and varied vocal styles going on. Even the spoken word parts sound awesome.

I think these guys could even be the next Bolzer. They deserve to be going by this.

A lot of moments in this EP remind me of Triptykon. Super cool stuff.
