The latest output from my favourite german band is a concept album on the topic of the Ring of the Nibelungen myth. When I first heard and read about Rheingold I thought about another attempt of following the trend of metal + symphonic orchestra like Metallica and Scorpions did not too long ago, but my thought were mislead and it turned out to be different. The Grave Diggers rather got some inspiration by the compositions of Richard Wagner.

Not quite as solid as the previous few records in my opinion, but this album still has some absolute bangers. The title track, "Valhalla" and the nicely written "Maidens of War" all proved that Grave Digger could still match some of the intensity found on their self-titled 2001 effort, even if the musicianship and originality seemed lacking this time round.

Tons of great material here, such as: "Liar", "Valhalla", "Giants", "Maidens Of War", title track and "Twilight Of The Gods". Excellent album! Fourth place In my top 5 from Digger.

Another past KotC record. But it´s a better one. Starting with three good (Title, Giants, Maidens of War) and three very good songs (Valhalla, Sword, Murderer). After that it declines a bit, but TotG and Hero are not bad at all. In total I have to change my vote from 7 to 8.
