Blazon Stone - Band On Hold

Swedish multi-instrumentalist Ced, real name Cederick Forsberg, who is the main man behind Rocka Rollas and Blazon Stone has announced that the band is on hold as he cannot find any available musicians to complete the line-up. They are looking for a vocalist, a drummer and a bassist.

He explained: "I have done my best, but I cannot find any available musicians to complete the line-up. I cannot describe how frustrating this is. I cannot magically summon musicians out of nowhere, and most of the good drummers/vocalists are already busy in already active and touring bands, and I have gotten tired of trying to keep up... So yeah, Blazon Stone is put on hold. That means, unlike Rocka Rollas, it's not put into a grave for all eternity. Blazon Stone still breathes, but it's lacking the necessary parts to actually function.

"So first off, 'all' gigs are cancelled. Skull Crush Fest IV in France has already announced the cancellation. Big sorry to everybody who wanted to see us in Colmar. I cannot book us to Germany (we was asked to play another festival 2019) and Greece (we was asked to be re-booked!) and also a couple of Swedish festivals was interested in booking Blazon Stone. This cannot happen as it is right now.

"Second off: whatever goes on behind the scenes is 100% confidential from now on. I need to find a properly working, dedicated, talented, and enthusiastic line-up. This will take time. A lot of time, energy and probably money. But I hope that some day I can get Blazon Stone back on track with a bang. But I cannot possibly ever do that in this current situation I am in. It's not possible!

"The only way out would be hiring professional live session musicians, but I cannot afford that! And I don't have a big enough follower base to rely on crowdfunding. I have asked before and the interest was too low and I decided that way is not the way to go. I don't have personal economy enough to actually afford professional live musicians, and even if I did, it would only be a short time solution.

"A big and loving thanks all who has been involved so far, in one way or another:
Erik Nordkvist for setting this sailing journey off 5 years ago!
Georgy Peichev (sorry couldn't tag name?) for thunderous voice on NSOG!
Jimmy Mattsson for bass duties during last summer and nice blackbeard
Kevin Crona for joining in on bass the first gig!
Karl Löfgren joining in on hard hitting drums at that same gig!
Daniel Sjögren for this summers few gigs, good job!
Philip Forsell for the same shows, you did wonders!
Jan Pawel for keyboard layers and some extra song writing on NSOG, WOTR and DITD!

"And of course: all the great fans! Too many to be mentioned individually! As I tried to make clear, it's NOT the complete end, I just need a moment to fix this shit up. Whenever Blazon Stone returns, it's gonna be fucking lethal!"

Later, he posted: "Vocalist wanted: You must be willing to travel to Sweden (we cover the costs!) every once in a while for occasional full-weekend rehearsals. You should have your own recording equipment for recording demo vocals, but for final album production we might probably do it at my place for deeply detailed recordings. I can go into more details in private.

(Yeah I'm of course looking for a drummer too but vocalist is the hardest part so let's at least start somewhere... The core of he band must be located in Sweden, I will not look for drummer abroad)."

This is such a shame, especially for a man clearly so passionate about his music. I'd be on the first flight to Sweden if I could sing, or even play drums.

Finding "musicians" isn't a problem.

Finding GOOD ENOUGH musicians who also share the same goals and have the time to spare while at the same time being decent human beings, however, is fucking impossible

I probably have a fair share of issues yes but that's not a factor in this case... This is about other people not me... I have (or used to have) the drive to take this shit forward but there's seemingly nobody else to get on board who fits the bill...

If I could find somebody:

1. Good at drums / vocals / bass
2. Have the time, and wants to take the band forward
3. Have a constructive/positive energy and respect for the band/project/whatever you wanna call it

That would be awesome. But I can't find them. Either I find somebody who's nice in person, but sucks at their instruments.
Or somebody who's really good at singing or whatever, but is a complete douche.
Then there's those who's both good musicians and persons, but they don't have time.
I know a drummer who wants to join Blazon, and he's a great dude and fantastic drummer... But he's busy with other bands, obviously, because he has talent, and lots of other bands wants him. Of course Blazon Stone not in priority then, I understand that.

So the situation for Blazon Stone seems kinda hopeless at the moment, I have no idea how to do. I cannot magically summon perfect band members out of nowhere, reality doesn't work that way

I guess it's a universal issue = truly passionate people, whether it's music, writing or anything else...
There's a lot of phonies out there, often unintentionally, ruining everything for everybody else
I dont blame them for not really caring, but I have had enough with these people I dont have any patience for anything anymore

Well this is very unfortunate news. But I fully understand Cederick here. You want musicians that meet your expectations. Both from a musical perspective (for obvious reasons) as well as the personality perspective. 1 unpleasant member in a band can ruin the whole project.

A friend of mine used to be the drummer in a band and they've had multiple line-ups in just a few years. Their first lead guitarist was pretty damn good, but was always late whenever they had to perform and often skipped rehearsals (probably thinking he didn't need them). One of the two singers got an internship in the USA so she was gone as well. She was replaced by someone who again was really talented. But she was quite a b*tchy diva and that didn't work out either. In fact the basist quit because he wasn't enjoying himself in the band anymore and because he wanted to invest more time in another band he played in. That's when they decided to pull the plugg.

So yeah... like I said I can completely understand Ced as I've seen the struggles my friend has gone through with his band.
