Hahaha, just looking at the bar graph makes me laugh. Fortunately we have Halfords solo albums and Fight to wash down the Tim Owens crap.

The darkest Priest album is "Jugulator" and Tim Owens did an incredible job on it. It is a fantastic disc that shouldn't have been released under the name of Judas Priest...

nowadays, Ripper is WAY better simply because hes younger. thats pretty much what it comes down to. Halford's vocals in Priest's rising in the east DVD dont have the same OOOMPH power and force behind them like they used to. Ripper is younger and because of that, has time to work on his delivery (it needs work, stat) and with that time i think he'll be better than Halford, if hes not already.

well i consider priest's live meltdown to be ripper's peak, and priest's live vengeance to be halford's, and by that measure alone i consider halford to be better. nowadays yes he isn't what he used to be... *sigh*

...lol well yes halford's voice is quite unique and way much better...ripper is excellent too but he's still behind halford...idk maybe he'll polish his vocals and such, but i don't think he'll achieve rob's level...

Obviously Halford is better than Owens, but Bruce Dickinson is better than both.

As much as I love the Ripper, he really isn't as good as Rob. At least not Rob when he was in his prime. I will say that Ripper did a good job when he was in Priest, and I like both of the albums he made with them. Especially "Jugulator" which is an amazing brutal metal album. Also, the first time I seen Priest live was with Ripper on vocals, and it was a great show! Although the first time I seen Priest live with Rob is the best gig Ive ever been to! So, much kudos to Ripper, but Halford in his prime, is my all time fave metal singer.

I agree that Owens is a great singer, Not many who can match him. However his biggest problem is that he has never really been involved in a successful project where he is the main man. Vocal are very distinctive esspecially in power/heavy metal.
Specific to Judas Priest, Halford is the man and a fantastic vocalist. Judas Priest's voice is Halford, It was the same when Halford went to Iced Earth, Owens did a great juob esspecially of Framing Armageddon, but Mat Barlow in that case the same here was/is the voice of Iced Earth.
I really hope to see Owens get involved in his own project which I believe he is,and I would love to hear a band where Owens is the voice. If Iwere to make a list of the best singers in metal Owens would certainly be there while Halford would be borderline, again same issue Halford is the voice of JP, Owens is not, is saying that Jugulator was a really great album.

I went with Halford of course, but a lot of you aren't giving Ripper the credit he deserves. Obviously Rob IS the voice of Priest, but Ripper Owens is an amazing vocalist. He's kickin' ass in Charred Walls of the Damned with Richard Christy and Steve DiGiorgio.

Halford is very awesome. I don't hate Ripper, but Halford created the metal look and was the greatest metal vocalist of his time.

Is this actually a question? Rob is the greatest singer in metal history.

Nowadays Ripper obviously wipes the floor with Halford, but with both of them on their prime Halford takes the cake in pretty much every department.
