I really like this one. Album of the year material.

Top-notch album.
But I don't understand the fifth track! I understand fillers in general, but this bellowing thing is what? They could have NOT recorded it and the album would have been the same...

There are some really cool intelligent riffs here. Especially in the first couple of songs.

Really enjoyable from the get-go. Guitar work is excellent, vocals are top notch but the drumming is meh. But then again there's no drummer in the current lineup so maybe that's the reason why. 🤣🤣🤣
Also, straight vocals remind me of someone else but I can't fathom who. It's driving me crazy

I don't know why exactly but I hate the cover art for this. Like a high school digital art project slapped together at the last minute.

Yeah, the cover art here is definitely irksome considering the metal here is so good.

I'm just enjoying this more and more the more I listen to it. For me, sun of the war is the standout track.

I noticed last night, listening to this and their second effort, that this is probably the band I would suggest to people longing for more Opeth albums. To me, they have a similar feel, albeit different style.

I'm ashamed I've never heard of this band before! At the same time, the genres are becoming so saturated with the same stuff, it's easy to miss a gem. And this one is a gem indeed!

Not a fan of this genre bcoz I hate the drums part. It's all the same but this album stands out with some good memorable tunes. Son of War is my favorite.

In the song Holy Silence you can see the influence of Between the Buried and Me. Even the voices sound similar.
