James LaBrie - First Full Length In 9 Years On Way, Details Available


James LaBrie embarks on uncharted waters with his fourth solo album, titled Beautiful Shade Of Grey, out 20th May 2022 via Inside Out Music. Other details, tracklist and cover artwork, can be seen below as well as the album's first single and opening track - "Devil In Drag". The accompanying music video was produced by Wayne Joyner.

"Beautiful Shade of Grey", as LaBrie describes it, was a title that only came to him once he identified the record’s two core themes throughout its track list. "A lot of these lyrics are dealing with the beauty of human beings, and a lot are dealing with the grey areas of the in between. You’re not exactly happy, but you’re not exactly sad, either."

Agreed, not a bad song but ´quite dull.
That this is the album opener is a bad sign for the rest of the album.

His best albums were those melodeath ones (and best part was the rest of the band)

I disagree, Elements of Persuasion is by far his most inspired work, just as good as some DT albums.

It's a matter taste obviously, in fact I even prefer the Mullmuzzler albums to Elements, back in the day they were more original in my opinion.

If I'm not mistaken in both Elements and what I call the "melodeath" Labrie albums Marco Sfogli was on guitars, but the heavier approach won me on the latter two.
