The creation of Rhetorica is a bit funny because it was only at the base the project of two Romanians bands, Dirty Shirt and Legion, which decided to do a combo for a festival in Romania [the members of the bands was in the team of the organisation]. But their set was a nice success and then, they decided to create officially Rhetorica as a unique band. Rhetorica, plays a nice and very interesting Progressive Metal/Rock, a very original music which will touch you without any doubts?

"Ganduri" [read thoughts] is a conceptual album, a unique song divided in 18 chapters, a journey in the spirit of a man who is thinking about his own existence. Really well done, the first album of the band is touching. The Progressive music of Rhetorica is interesting because it's at the end a real mix of a lot of elements from Rock to Folk, and of course with the power of Metal. The general ambiance can be sad, serious and even psychedelic this totally uncommon and fresh. Of course some progressive bands already did this kind of very original music but that's not common, and plus, Rethorica does it well.
With this album, you'll have a lot of variations, some songs can be very slow, some others will be very intimates and some others will be powerful, this is definitely not a linear music, but of course and only because of the concept album all the songs are linked.
The musicians of the band are good you'll have great lines of bass and excellent guitars and keyboards solo, but don't expect something which will sound futurist, at the opposite the music of the band sounds a bit like some Progressive bands of the 70's, and that's really enjoyable. The singer however is not the strong point of the band, in fact his voice is not bad, but he is a bit covered by all the others instruments, maybe it come from the lyrics in Romanians, who knows? But if it's a bit weird at the first listening, at the end that's original and gives something exotic to the music, that's nice?

"Ganduri" is a nice album of Progressive Metal, my only regret comes from the fact that some songs are a bit too "weak" for me, but however no doubt that for a first album, the band did something more than good.
If you like progressive Rock or Metal, you should give a chance to this promising young Romanian band, their first album is a really nice first shout. We will support and keep an eye on this band?
