The eighties finished. Get over it

Can you really tell me which thing the eighties left to us is really essential?
Ugly spandex clothing, tons of hairspray, bullet belts and cocaine.
Have you ever heard those eighties bands TODAY? They sound horrible in almost every aspect, the bass and the guitars always fighting to get in synch, the horrible vocals of most bands (lucky us nowadays people study to be singers) and of course, the clothing aspect again.

But in their time these bands were looked up to, and they had many, many fans. Sold out concerts and millions of Cd's are proof of that. That was then, nowadays with the explosion of so many sub-genres in Metal, eighties Metal was left aside. Good for us.

There's always one sucker that can't get over the fact that the eighties is over, lucky me, I just found 5 of them and they go by the moniker of Strikelight.
Fist of all, the cover art of the album surely will go to my top ten worst album covers of the year. 'Nuff said, let's take a look at these freaks.

You know, I don't know if rate this album high or low because the music, atmosphere and sound surely bring back some memories (Warlord, Tokyo Blade etc).
But in the other hand, the fact that this album was recorded this century brings down the whole melancholic side of it.

The eighties Metal was badly played at times, but that was part of the charm, if you do that on purpose doesn't work. So my view on this album? All fans of eighties Metal are going to love this, because while I think is quite crappy, the record sure does an excellent work portraying the whole eighties scene, these guys did their homework.

This is not for everyone, only for diehard classic Metal fans only, if you don't belong to that era or you don't hear that kind of music, move along, chances are that you're not going to understand this.

Casual listener of Metal, you can rest 2 points from the rating.
Diehard eighties Metal fan, you can add 2 points to the rating.
