Argentina goes Black
Artes Negras translates to "Black Arts" and the band name is written in Spanish because the band hails from Argentina. For those of you that haven't heard about Artes Negras, they're a Black Metal band that incorporates a lot of raw, Thrash Metal elements to their music, these two combined forces makes of this a powerful and enjoyable release.
The album begins with the mandatory eerie intro and suddenly "Lobizon Moon" enters with raw force and sheer brutality. The guitars are unrefined and the whole sound is somewhat crude, but it works really well for these guys, because you can tell these was done on purpose, not because budget problems.
Anyway, the album goes on and you find even more reasons to love this, you got the grim coldness and brutality of Black Metal paired with awesome and catchy riffs from Thrash Metal, the drums do a good work here indeed.
The material in this album surely will appeal "tr00" Blacksters and extreme music lovers as well. Songs like "El Retorno De La Salamanca" (sung entirely in Spanish) and "Goat Fucker!" will be the delights of your local bashings.
Extreme Music doesn't to be that original to enjoy it, here you have an album that doesn't break any pre-established musical boundaries, but succeed in keeping you glued to the speaker. Recommended for extreme Metal lovers.
