Well, one of the pioneers of the Horror Metal category, they need no introduction?Impetigo ladies and gentleman, a cult band that released only two full-lengths in their history, later copycatted by bands such as Mortician, Gorerotted (in their early days) and Machetazo. I now have one of the re-issued EP's from Obscene Productions, "Buio Omega", their praised release from 1991.

I'll keep this review short, after all I'm talking about Impetigo, people already know how they sound and what they represent. This EP was one of their most important releases back in the old days; it was a cult CD only because it's the follow-up of their debut album called "Ultimo Mondo Cannibale", an album which shocked many extreme metal-heads in 1990.

The 4 songs featuring this EP are crushing pieces of rotting gore and bloody tunes; all of them wrapped with super-catchy riffs, insanely fast drumming and a tattered throat blasting the microphone. Now to the goodies, the Obscene Productions re-issue features 3 live tracks, a CD-Rom with really interesting stuff and one hell of a layout, so I think the fanatics of this band should rush themselves to buy this album, you already know it's impossible to find the first edition of this EP, so here you have it, re-mastered, enhanced and better looking.
