Sounds promising, good review....not that it wouldve mattered, I probably wouldve bought it regardless of the rating, I hear its the best album from WASP since The Crimson Idol, so it has to be good.

I agree with you most part, but it deninitely deserves more than 7.5. Or maybe I just love the band too much. The best thing in WASP are the meaningful lyrics (as you said, no bullshit), Blackie's undying vocals and the overall sound that is WASP, and them alone. Listen to the guitars, painful and beautiful at the same time. It's hard to say if this is better than Dying for the World or Neon God Pt. 1 because I just bought it last week. Respect to Blackie for delivering another delicious album.

Whatever you say Jeff I can't really be agree with you about what you said about The Neon God! I believe Part 2 of the Neon God saved the album because the Part 1 is really piss poor and disappointing! And IMO Dominator is a successful album. Be honest I didn't expect a good album, more because The Neon God didn't satisfy me at all! But Blackie and boys did their job great this time!

Cool staff...I would rate it 8.0. My favourite songs: ''Long, Long Way To Go'', ''Take Me Up'', ''Heaven's Hung In Black'', ''Heaven's Blessed'' and ''Deal With The Devil''
The album cover looks also pretty nice.

Yeah no kidding. Secondly, no, 7.5 is a fine rating, I'd even go as far as saying even possibly a little too high (in my tastes), this coming from a die-hard WASP fan. Partly because 'Heaven's Hung In Black' was like a 7 minute track....they really didn't need to add a reprise in for it, it seems like that song took up half the album. I found there wasn't enough good "rockers" in the album - it was like 90% ballads (even though the ballads were good sounding, they were just far too many). Last of all, regarding our over capitalizing friend up there, Blackie Lawless has almost completely lost his range, he used to do what hes singing now, but with glass shattering screams on top, he can still sing very well, just nowhere near what he used to I find. That being said, its not an entirely bad album thats pretty enjoyable the whole way through, just nothing too memorable, probably a 7/10 for me.

You notice how The Neon God Pt.2 was compiled almost entirely of recycled riffs from Pt.1? Jeff was right, Pt.1 was better.

Heaven's Hung in Black is really an amazing song. in my expert infallible opinion it's the second best WASP ballad ever(you know which is the first one of course) and Take Me Up also ranks high. i don't know how Blackie does it, but so many of WASP's ballads are unbelievably good.
