You're a man, a real guy? You have a big pair of balls in your pants? You like beers and Harley Davidson? Then you are certainly a fan of the German power metal band Iron Savior [well I hope for you, because this review will talk about their new release "Battering Ram" ]. "Battering Ram" is the 6th album of the band and, well, if you like the German combo and if you like this kind of music, then no doubt you'll like this new one.

I must be clear from the beginning, because I'm sure that some readers who don't know Iron Savior and their music could have some spots at the end of the review if they're not warned. Iron Savior does true German Power metal like Helloween, Gamma Ray & the likes. Then you must know that the music of Iron Savior is pure basic metal and sometimes it's hard for me to understand how they can have all the success they have in Germany. But anyway it's a fact and, well, this new album will certainly get a lot of success again.

Music wise, again it's classic Power metal with very fast guitar riffs and thundering double drum bass pedal. In addition, you can put some "warrior" chorus a la Manowar and you would have Iron Savior. I must admit that the musicians are very good and I really like the excellent voice of Piet Sielck who is definitely one of the best Power Metal singers. Even if it's not very original, this music is catchy and the melodies are good indeed.

The production - and you must know that with these bands from Germany are very professional - showcases a great and powerful sound. Yeah, "Battering Ram" is very well mixed and powerful. And globally the sound of the record is near perfection. Really nothing bad to say about it.

The only problem I have [maybe it comes from me] with this album is the fact that I fail to see any difference between this CD or the last one of the other production of the band X, who also plays "Power metal from Germany®". Well I'm sure the fans really don't care, but how about trying something a bit different next time around?

Anyway, if I must make a statement at the end of this review, I would say that Iron Savior fans will certainly buy and like this album, they don't even need my opinion, I guess. For the others, if you like Power metal this is for you, you'll like it without a doubt. As for me, I will park my Harley, put my perfecto and my leather pants back in my closet. And keep my beer and drink it [it's important].

Piet Sielck, one of the founders to the legendary Power Metal band Helloween, is back with his Iron Savior, and with "Battering Ram" they releases their sixth album (Second without the co-founder to Helloween and founder of Gamma Ray, Kai Hansen).
And now it seems like Piet knows how to survive without Kai at his side, since I didn't like "Condition Red" a bit, so this is a saviour, if you ask me.
