Persefone - Spiritual Migration
[9,6/10] Progressive Metal with Death Metal influences. Easily Persefone's best effort. I really liked Core, but never became a huge fan of Shin-Ken. This is different though. Firstly, 99% of this album is just heavy progressive metal, having nothing in common with death metal. Instrumentals are outstanding here, easily a hundred different rhytms and patterns. Add some great guitar and keybord solos (a bit dreamtheaterish), orchestrations and fantastic piano interludes, mix with clean vocals (there are everywhere here) and some good screams. And there we go, album of the year! Not a single boring second here, outsanding.
