My ranking would probably go like this:

1. Primordial - To The Nameless Dead
2. Rotting Christ - Theogonia
3. Lunar Aurora - Andacht
4. Anaal Nathrakh - Hell Is Empty, And All The Devils Are Here
5. Dark Tranquillity - Fiction
6. The Birthday Massacre - Walking With Strangers
7. Machine Head - The Blackening
8. Watain - Sworn To The Dark
9. Electric Wizard - Witchcult Today
10. Inquisition - Nefarious Dismal Orations
11. Wolves In The Throne Room - Two Hunters
12. Walknut - Graveforests And Their Shadows
13. Mayhem - Ordo Ad Chao
14. Ensiferum - Victory Songs
15. Drudkh - Відчуженість (Estrangement)

Since I am not into black metal in general there are some different albums on my side.
(This was btw the last year chronologically where I had an album with a 10 rating!)

4. Before The Rain - ...One Day Less

9. The Foreshadowing - Days Of Nothing
10. Alcest - Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde
11. Wolves In The Throne Room - Two Hunters

As per usual, our lists are very different. I think this is the first time we got 0 albums in common. It's not the greatest year ever but there are some really cool releases nonetheless:

We both had Mayhem, DSO probably would've gotten on but I never got around to finishing that one.

I just listened to The Cathode Terror Secretion. Well that was an experience.

I've only been listening to them recently this year, I know their a bit soft for some metalheads, but I really dig their sound, and her vocals especially.

I haven't heard all of Walking With Strangers so it didn't qualify but I remember getting slightly addicted to Red Stars when I first heard it and found more from there. I like them, they're cool and different and yeah she's an awesome vocalist.
