13.02.2010 - 17:00 Written by Ragana on 13.02.2010 at 16:43 No, I actually don't have any back problems, which is surprising considering the number of horrendous crashes I've been in. I'm not sure there's any single part of my body that doesn't have a scar on it, but my back is covered with them.

I have been working out for a good nine months now, started once a week, then went twice a week, now I'm going four times a week. It's goddamn addictive. You just have to know what you're doing. There are too many idiots in the gym. Some just seem to have no clue at all. As Viggo said, you have to think of your balance. Yeah, some muscles are just annoying to work on. Usually the upper back and shoulder excercises are the ones which hurt the most and give the least visible result. While biceps and triceps, and especially chest, are usually the best ones. Upping your max weight for a bench press and pushing it in the air a couple of times is just goooooooood. But really, even though I dislike a couple of excercises/muscles, I always do them. There are a couple of dudes in the same gym I'm going to that are so disbalanced. Seriously, a couple of them I'd even call disfigured. One has massive shoulders, upperback and arms but seems to have never trained his lower back at all. He always stands in a very awkward posed, very hunched and 'just wrong'. There's this other dude that's just obviously on steroids or whatever medical shit's 'in' these days. He's basically one big angry muscle, hahaha, he always looks so enraged, dumb and numb.

Sort of a funny and, then again, not that funny thing is when some dudes in the sports hall are making awful sounds when exercising... Sometimes they moan so loud it sounds like from a darn porn film... Today I almost dropped the dumbbells because the rhythmic groaning of some dude in the other side of the hall was making me laugh... Is it actually possible to workout in silence please... me and me bro can do it... I bet others can as well... Tho I heard of a dude who always liked to scream in an extatic manner when doing bench presses...

Written by Lucas on 13.02.2010 at 22:05 dude you are so right about it being addictive! I start freaking if I can't go for whatever reason (early appointment, illness etc) lol yeah at the gym I go to, I've seen some people who don't have a clue either. There's this Indian dude (from India) who's tall but he's not scrawny, just thin I guess. That's all well and good but when he first started working out, he was struggling with bench pressing 40 pounds and here I am, a smaller girl who was bench pressing nearly double several months later, he's still at 40...he doesn't struggle as much at all like he did at first but I would like to think he could do more than that by now! I timed myself the other day...I can do 40 pushups under a minute with about 10 seconds to spare. I'm trying to get up to 50.

I just started last week, and since I'm new I start with low weight and work my way up in as the time passes. So I get embarrased every time a guy smaller or thiner (I'm 6'2" and 81kg) than me uses the same machine after I'm done an ups the weight from 40 lbs to like 90, making me look like a wimp. But hey, I'll get there someday.

Mostly I have to lift light weights so that I can maintain my form for archery practice and competition. But also, I have issues with energy - as in I have way too much of it, and I have to constantly be doing something in order to not go insane.

And if you do it right, it's actually a sport that makes you feel good.

12.09.2010 - 22:32 Written by Zombie on 12.09.2010 at 19:19 Do you mean those who eat protein shakes and whatnot and look like michelin mascots? No... that's not what me and me bro do... we do the real deal... The goal is to achieve strength through natural exercise and natural food and rest... Of course... many go for the "unnatural" michelin way... you often get to hear dudes chit-chatting bout "which protein shake will make your pecs seem hugest" during workout... nope... that's fail... that's no good...

Uhm, you seem very misinformed when it comes to protein shakes... of course there are different 'types' of working out (pure strenght, growth or endurance), but there's nothing wrong with protein shakes (whey). Yeah, it's produced in a laboratory, but it's basically the same thing as your everyday food. Except much more concentrated. If you want to grow, then I'd really recommend them. (After getting familiar with good training exercises, good food and good rest.) I don't know why supplements are always so frowned upon. They're exactly the same stuff you can find in your food, except much more concentrated. EDIT: Besides, a protein shake will hardly turn you into a 'michelin mascot'.

I began working out again, but not the way I used to when I was alot younger. I started working out excessively when I was in Junior High so I can defend myself and ended up becoming way bigger than I wanted. My coordination wasn't any better mind you, actually it got worse haha. Then, I started drinking, partying and doing drugs. 8 years, 15 kilos lighter, later on... My metabolism isn't what it used to be. Even though I weighed more in Israel than I do here in the USA (which I think its kinda funny), but I've noticed that even though Im skinny I still have some stretched fat from when I was alot bigger in Junior High school. So, now Im doing things differently. I'm working out with much smaller weights in much larger sets. (i.e. 3 sets of 20 or 30 for a dumbell workout). I want to get toned as hell, and not just look big. I'm going to get cut, I'm three weeks into this workout, but myself and my friends already notice a difference. I'm doing it because I want to look good (BETTER! haha, I already look good) , and to encourage my body to have more energy.

Yeah, i'm against it if people are doing it for the 'looks' .. the pumped up michelin type of people disgust me.. but to build muscles naturally and become physically stronger and well, healthier.. that's great, forsure i'm NOT against that !
