I haven't warmed to the vocals since I wrote my review, but the instrumentals are just so lush

Mellow AF, vocals sound weird. New singer?

Maybe little too polished compared to their previous albums, but I still love it. Omens is definitely one of those kinds of records you're supposed to listen through at least dozen times until you really get into it, and even then you'll surely always find something new and interesting. For me, this is a strong contender for AOTY.

The vocals are underwhelming, but there isn't much singing on the album. So it's not as objectionable as it could be otherwise. In terms of musical composition, this is right there with the best work that Elder has done to date.
I'm a pretty big fan of this band, to be fair. But in my opinion this is one of the best albums of the year so far.

I really like it, but don't love it like I did when I first heard their previous releases. I'm not sure why, it's just...not sitting right I guess. High bar though, to be honest.

A very enjoyable album after a dozen listens, so a real grower. There is a Pink Floyd vibe throughout for me. I also find the music uplifting, which is a big plus.

Halcyon is my mid point Song Of The Year.
Right up there for me - has the best instrumentals on the album, and DiSalvo's vocals are at their least distracting (I genuinely enjoy that "Raining down on me, I can feel the earth" refrain, which I can't say for any other vocal part on the record). Having said that, the second half of Embers gives it solid competition

The first six minutes is some of the best post rock I've ever heard. The layered tremolos and mixing is not of this earth.

It's funny that in every Elder album, the best song is the opener
"Halcyon" and "In Procession" were really good too
it feels like a mix between The Gold & Silver Sessions and their older stuff; really dreamy melodic/psychedelic and a bit heavier in some other parts
