Regardless of the music, I'm bothered by the prod. The guitar sound is ugly, guitar1/g2/bass tracks are asynchronous, the drums are off-beat, the cymbals are too thin and all over the place. I could complain about the kick sound too. The singer sounds on top of everything else because the instrumental isn't bright enough. The reverb used on the vocals ins't the most appropriate. You can ear the drums were intended to sound powerful, with a lot of compression applied, although their placement in the global mix is unserviceable. I think there's still a lot of room bleeding through the drum track

Blood In The Sky needs to be rythmically tight for it to work, but there it's so off that I didn't even understand the riff and assumed it was noise. Purgatory Gates has one of the most ridiculous bass break ever heard. The tone is weak, and it's off-tune! Still Alive, what the hell is the kick drum doing? it's completely off beat. Also the balance between instruments changes for each track.

So it's half the band playing sloppy, half the mix engineer lacking competence. I can't claim to do better, but I would rather seek musical consistency before attempting to sound modern. And I guess that's not even a problem for most people, but if you pay attention, there's a lot of flaws everywhere. Shame, because the band could make it. The vocals and and guitar leads are decent
