I think this is the label's idea. Knowing the members, they probably don't give a fuck about it.

How will this pay the bills? Who would be dumb enough to buy this?
The only reason I could think of is something to sell for cheap at shows, but there are no shows right now.

Will there be another EP in 5 years with tracks 3 and 4 from Wildfire?

I don't think it will actually pay any bills really, but the label probably thinks there are enough collectors out there willing to buy the 500 or 1000 copies they print.

There might also be a contractual obligation for the band to release x amount of albums (be it LPs or EPs) and since they didn't have anything new to showcase, this was slapped together to remain compliant.

I think this is the most likely thing. Which is completely dumb if true
